What an angel's face can do

You stood speechless trying to comprehend what Tom just asked you. Was this truly happening? Still trying to process it in your mind, you formulate an answer...

"You want me to move in with you? We've only known each other for about a week..."

"I am aware of that y/n.  I have enjoyed our time together and I would not want to be alone during this madness. I can't think of no one better than to spend it with you."

"Yeah, but Ele.."

"She's a grown woman," he interrupts, "I am sure she can manage being by herself. Besides, being only around each other will lessen our chances of falling ill."

"I-I.."

"Please y/n, say yes. It would be a honor to have you grace my home with your presence."

"Of course, I'll move in Tom", you say with a huge smile on your face. Tom gets very happy and picks you up and spins you around in his arms. "That's splendid Y/n. Go get your belongings, and I'll have a bedroom ready for you when you get back".

You start driving your way to Elena's. You can't believe what just happened! Though one thing that kept you smiling was knowing the fact that you and Tom are going to have LOTS of time together. Time will tell what happens...

You walk down the hall and start instering your keys into the door and walk in. To no surprise, Elena immediately starts interrogating you.

"Where were you last night?! Why didn't you call me?! You had me worried sick! You should've been back from the set by 9:00 p.m!"

"Elena I'm fine, as you can clearly see."

She starts studying what you're wearing. With a concerned look on her face, "You spent the night at Tom's house didn't you?".

"What? No of course not! I went for a drink after work and had a one night stand. I fell asleep and stayed the night."

You start walking over to your room to prepare your luggage, and Elena follows still bickering.

"Really....the Legendary black t-shirt that he's always seen in and black sports shorts...Don't lie to me y/n! If you and him wanted to be 'secretive' about things, you wouldn't be wearing the most obvious thing".

"I'm sure there's more than one Legendary shirt Elena, and it so happens the guy I hooked up with last night had one. Now lay off..."

You get a large black suitcase and start emptying the drawers, getting clothes on hangers, your shoes and other things you seemed essential for your stay at Tom's house.

"Why are you packing your things y/n," Elena asks.

You have never lied to Elena, this is your first time and it hurts to lie the only friend you've had for a lifetime. However, you flashback to Tom's angelic eyes looking at you, beckoning you to stay with him, and you knew where you had to be. You answered her after a few moments,"I have saved enough money from my job to get a small place of my own, nothing like your loft, but it'll be my own."

"But why live alone, aren't we best friends?"

Closing up your suitcase, you turn to face her, "the bestest, but with everything going on, I think it would be a smart choice to live alone. I'll visit you once this lockdown is over."

Making your way to the door, Elena says from behind you, "you're moving in with him, aren't you?" You stop in your tracks, turn slowly, and after a brief pause, "no".
