Chapter 4

Blackness turned into light. I sat straight up. Fresh morning air rushed in through the open window and sent a chill down my back. Mrs. Freet was sleeping in her desk chair, but he door was ajaw, just waiting for me. I got up and snuck out the door. Geez... I can't believe Mrs. Freet slept through that, considering she notices everything. The hall was dead silent. Everyone was sleeping in their classrooms. I start walking down the hall to the entrance

"Honey, you will enjoy school."

"Mom, I don't think I will."

"I know you have been depressed ever since Jackson left, but Rani you need to start fresh."

"But...I....don't.... think..."

"I'm going now. Go make some friends. Bye Rani."

Now to the cafeteria...

"Hey! What's your name?"

"Rani."

"Well, I'm Aria! What are you doing sitting alone?"

"I don't know?"

"Well, I'm sittin with you. You seem like a nice girl. Echo, get over here!"

" Who's Echo?"

"She another girl you will like."

"What do you want, Aria? Oh.....hi!"

Aria and Echo immediatley became my best friends. In Tech class, I met Skye....

"Let's get partners."

"Hi, I'm so excited for Tech class! Do you want to sit with me at lunch?"

"Sure, if my other friends Aria and Echo can come."

"They sound awesome! Sure!"

We all became the four amigos.

I think I had a pain-stankingly stupid smile on my face because the principal came in and asked what I was doing. I was speechless. He understood my feelings about the test. He brought me back to Mrs. Freet's class.
