TRIP DOWN TO MEMORY LANE

CHAPTER 3

MAYARI LEI SALAZAR 

Its almost 10:00 PM when I arrived to my destination. La Bakasyunan, that's the name of the resort--- na pagbabakasyunan ko. Well, sabi ni Jhanary this is a good place for me to unwind. Dahil hindi naman ako mahilig sa adventures, mas gusto ko tingnan ang mga scenery and she said that this resort is the best.

I dialed her phone number to make sure na may reservation ako rito kasi sabi naman niya ay gagawan niya ako ng reservation.

"Yes, Lei?"

"Jhana, may reservation naman na ako rito, 'diba?" I asked her.

"Huh? Saan?" She asked shockingly. Oh my god, she didn't...

"Sa La Bakasyunan, dito sa Palawan." Paglilinaw ko. I heard her shouts out of frustration.

"Ay putangina, sorry Lei! I forgot! But if you're there, you can do that yourself -- naman na." She said in apologetic tone. Ano pa nga ba? Wala na akong magagawa.

"Okay fine."

"Sorry, busy talaga, eh. Nawala sa isip ko."

" Yes, yes, I understand."

"Hindi ka galit?"

"Isn't it childish, kung magagalit pa ako? Besides I'm here,  I can just do that myself."

"Okay..."

"Anyway, do your job na. Magbabakasyon na ako." I said excitedly then drop the phone call.

Hinawakan ko ng mahigpit ang backpack ko. Dito na nakalagay lahat ng kailangan ko for 2 weeks, but I am having a feeling I should have brought more. Siguro dahil first time kong mag-travel? 

I wear my mask and the staff have checked my temperature to make sure that I don't have fever, then goes inside. The government is doing this as one of its precautionary measure --- dahil nga sa virus na galing sa china.

What I just don't understand is that why they can't just closed the travel boarders of the Philippines? Eh, halata namang takot na takot sila sa Ncov.

" Magandang gabi po! Welcome sa La bakasyunan."  The reciopnist greeted me with a smiling face, showing her white teeth.

"Hi." I said with a tired smile.

Dahil pagod na pagod na talaga ako, I want to spend my time sleeping for day 1 and exploring the whole island for 2 weeks.

I tried to get my wallet out of my bag and as I am doing it another visitors have arrived. I heard the receptionist greeted him with the same greeting she did to me.

"Hi, just one room please."

"Okay po, Sir. Let me check."

When I got my wallet out saka ko ulit kinausap ang receptionist.

"Miss, isang room lang din." I said with a smile.

"Sure po ma'am. Wait lang po at naglo-loading pa po ang computer."

"Mayari." Halos napatalon ako sa gulat nang marinig ko ang pangalan ko.

Nilingon ko siya kaagad and to my surprise! I saw him. Jae Mendoza, what are you doing here?

"What are you doing here?" Sabay naming tanong sa isa't isa. 

So he didn't saw me on the plane? So he looked at me and didn't recognize me? Jae is twisted, I don't know what he's thinking but I am feeling that he's following me.

"Wait, are you following me?" I asked. Assuming na kung assuming but he could have heard from Jhanary --- na magbabakasyon ako. Maybe he's still into me kaya nag-decide siya na sundan ko, to know if we can still work.
