Only Time Will Tell.... (Au)

wait what?

When i woke up i was in a lot of pain. Turns out stiches and broken bones do more than you think. I slowly sat up and looked around for my crutches but just then Zayn walked in. "hey, your up."

"yeah. Where are my crutches?"

"oh niall refuses to let you, 'damage your army pits'." he said with air quotes. "so he said to tell him when your up, he also hid them so no one can find them. I don't know anymore I think he drunk or high or both probably." 

"oh, " i chuckled, "how am i supposed to get downstairs?" 

"want me to carry you?" 

"no it fine z."

"its either me or niall?"

"dont tell niall but i trust you more."

"i dont blame ya." he laughed as he picked me up and left the room. He brought me down stairs and gentally set me down on the couch. 

"my baby!" niall yelled.

"shut up neil!" louis yelled as he suddenly came into view, "where in the name in holy hell are tho- oh hey hazza. Sorry i left ya niall snuck in and stole your crutches so im trying to find them." he gently moves my hair back and kisses my forehead. "its okay boobear." 

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah I dont plan on moving anytime soon."

"Okay what should I make for breakfast?"

"You? Cook?" Niall asked.

"Oi fook off! I'm a brilliant cook!"

"Lou no your not." Harry quipped back.

"Ugh fine I go to mc Donald's, science the cook has been taken out."

"Want me to go with?" Zayn asks.

"If you want to!"

"Alrighty." Zayn stood up and grabbed his stuff.

"Drive safely boobear." Harry says to lou.

"I will haz." Louis say back as he kisses harry on the lips. He pulls back and realizes the other boys are watching and niall takes a picture. He quickly walks out the door with zayn.

"Okay I have to ask." Liam says.

"Yes?"

"What are you to?"

"I dont really know I mean after the whole elenor thing I'm kinda confused. Should I ask him?"

"I think ya should mate." Niall says appearing with a bag of chips.

"Maybe your right. When should i?"

"Ask him tonight."

"Okay, I will."

~~~~harry and louis in Harry's room~~~

"Alright night haz." Lou says as he turns towards the door.

"Wait lou, can we talk?"

"Yeah of course." He says as he sits down next to harry. "What's up?"

"What are we?" Harry blurts out.

"Wow, that was...that was random? What brought this on?"

"Well its just the kiss today and in the hospital when you almost called me your boyfriend."

"Oh yeah...um...I honestly dont know."

"Sorry if I'm springing this on you."

"No no no it's fine curly. But honestly?"

"Mhm."

"Well I think maybe we should we should maybe be friends for now?"

"Oh." Harry's face falls and tears form in his eyes.

"I'm sorry I just dont think it our time."

"No it's fine."

"I'm sorry I'm gonna go."

"Okay goodnight lou."

"Night hazza." As soon as the door was shut both boys let out tears.

This wasn't what they wanted.

They wanted each other.

To hold each other.

To kiss.

To love.

But it wasn't going to be.
