yelena had soon realised she had feelings for the boy, but was it platonic feelings? romantic feelings? even if they were, she knew he'd never look twice at her in that way, she tried to ignore them, in hopes to relinquish these feelings of affection, at times she'd get lost daydreaming, says living in a quixotic reality. she needed to get her feelings in check, she couldn't risk falling for this man.
as morning crawled, she rubbed her eyes, lightly intoxicated from her sleep, she stretched her arms and she got up to get ready for the day, she washed her face with cold water, she needed fresh air today, maybe she could convince adham to accompany her outside.
—————-
a radiant sun steps forth from the spring time, in the sweltering heat, as if hugging us in her rays, they seemed like a warm myriad of colours.
the pair met up in the fields, it was a exotic day, with the rays of sunshine looking below at them, with the iridescent sky, it was a humid day, they both decided to meet up in the fields later on in the day, at noon. they brought a book and some picnic food, devouring pastries, some sandwiches— and their personal favourite, the necessity, a great pot of tea.
they strolled to the perfect spot, near the lake, clear and surprising clean, a lovely large willow tree towering above them, like a canopy, they liked to sit in silence reading, occasionally eating some of their food, they'd read some of their book aloud to each other at times, with the chirping of the birds time-to-time, it felt calm and serene.
this continued for the past few weeks, they'd meet up, do some fun activities, they even went for a dip in the lake, it was ice cold, but it was refreshing with the warm weather. they got along— adham started to warm up to her, but he kept his cold exterior up for as long as he could, yelena noticed times where he'd let his guard down and seemed genuinely happy, and she'd never say she didn't want him to distance himself, she doesn't hate to admit it, but she feels like he atleast has a soft spot for her, she's not completely clueless.
1 week later...
adham had jumped into the lake, his curly brown hair wet, his jawline prominent, "yelena come join me." he shouted, as the young woman was doing some drawing, admittedly she couldn't draw well, doesn't mean you can't do it for fun, she tried to draw the boy in front of her, after all she had nothing else worth drawing, his radiant smile, his luscious locks of hair, his sharp jawline, his hazel eyes, his skinny and lean figure, his gorgeous cheekbones and the slight blush on his face that naturally stood, his pale smooth skin, she wished she could trace her hand over ever so lightly, as she held his face in her other hand.
"i don't think i really have a choice, you're just going to pull me in if i don't." she replied with a slight smirk, as she ran up to the lake jumping in. "i'd say you just can't resist me." he replied holding his smirk, trying to seem smug. yelena rolled her eyes and she splashed water onto him. "oh, it's on darling." he replied, to be frank, yelena liked the nicknames- which she wouldn't admit. "don't call me that." she replied whilst crossing her arms. "you didn't object before." he replied chucking. they spent the day messing around, having a water fight, they realised it was soon evening and had to head back as the warm hue of colours set in the sky, the warm breeze colder now without the hint of clean- white clouds in sight, the sky darkening as they walked back.
they sat down at dinner, all three of them present, both adham and yelena sent each other discreeted smiles, glancing at each other, it was silent but a comfortable silence.
———-
it was late at night, yelena had a hard time falling asleep, she got up from the bed, her feet touching the cold floor, grabbing a hoodie to keep her warm, she decided to go out for a walk, she realised the moon was shining brightly, glowing— it looked glorious.
she sat down in the grass, watching the moon, she was envious of the moon, it stood brightly in the sky, gaining words of affection and compliments when rather it just stood there, she didn't blame them though, it was a picturesque sight. putting her head in her laps, she realised she saw a lean figure standing in the shadows. "i can see you, you know?" she said.
"i know, can't sleep?" he replied, the girl gave him a simple nod and put her head on his shoulders, as he snaked his hands to her waist. they sat there for some time, not making much conversation but sleep soon grasped her and she gingerly closed her eyes, sound asleep. the young boy was lost in watching the moon, he didn't realise, he smiled as her looked down and planted a small kiss on her forehead. "i have to carry you back now, lovely. really you owe me one, darling- i could just leave you here but that'd be mean." he muttered to himself, whilst he hoped she didn't feel the small peck on her forehead.
he put his arms under her small legs and one arm supporting her back, carrying her like a small child, but being careful as to not wake her from her slumber. he walked into the house to her room and tucked her in, laying her in the duvets making sure she was warm, as he muttered a 'goodnight' he pressed his lips to keep fingers, pecking them, he didn't want to leave, she looked so peaceful, without a care in the world. but he went against his temptations and left without a word.
i wanted to add adhams perspective at the end, because i don't really write as to how he feels and please vote and comment if you can :)
