Our second chance (Casualty)

Seventeen

Caty sat in bed. It was three in the morning as she set feeding summer. She looked to her and smiled as Iain lay asleep next to her.

Caty was glad that after all that they had been through lately and after a traumatic birth and pregnancy that summer was okay.

Caty knew that she was meant to be having twins and it made her feel sad slightly as she thought of the baby that they never met. Caty knew it was hard of them to adjust to a family of four.

Caty finished feeding summer and placed her in her crib and got back into bed. She wrapped an arm around Iain as he rolled over and hugged her

"are you okay" he asked as she nodded

"tired, becoming a family of four is tiring" caty said as Iain looked to her and smiled

"I know but we can do it, I mean after everything we have been through" Iain said as caty smiled

"just to think you may of never got the chance to meet her, or watch her and poppy grow up" caty said

"I know and I'm glad it failed as I wouldn't miss it for the world" Iain said as he leant in and kissed her.

Caty smiled as she kissed him back and smiled. She was glad that they were finally able to make things work

Caty sat in the house as poppy stood jumping on the sofa. Caty loooked to her

"poppy, that's enough" caty said as poppy went to hit her as Iain walked into the room and grabbed

her "I think you need a time out" Iain said as poppy screamed and yelled against him.

Caty sighed as she looked to summer and smiled as she lay asleep as Iain walked in and smiled "I'll make us some dinner" he said

"your the best, I miss she was this quiet and peaceful sometimes" Caty said as Iain chuckled

"if only...she doesn't like it that she's the centre of attention and she is two and she is going through her terrible twos. It will get easier besides we're together and we coparent" Iain said as he walked into the kitchen and smiled

"you think she hates summer?" Caty asked

"no, I just think it's going to be hard for her to get use to but it's her little sister at the end of the day" Iain said as he walked out and hated her a sandwich as he sat next to her

Caty looked to him and smiled as she lay in his arms as poppy toddled in "have you calmed down." Iain asked as poppy climbed up onto the sofa and cuddled in

"I swoorry" she said as Caty pulled her to her chest and kissed her head

Caty smiled as she sat with summer who was looking at her. Chloe walked in and smiled

"how's my favourite girl?" Chloe asked as she picked summer up

"she's woke up grumpy" caty said as Chloe sat down and held her in her arms and smiled

"just like your mummy, let's hope you don't have her temper" Chloe said as caty smiled

"you look tired"

"I am, it's hard with a newborn and a two year old who is acting out but I'm glad I have Iain I couldn't do it without him" caty said as Chloe looked to her and smiled

"you two can do it, you can do anything together your rock solid after this year" Chloe said as caty smiled.

Caty had no idea over the big surprise that Iain was planning for her.
