Danny Manny, Danny Manny, a man of no words. Chant this song and you'll be cursed. Cut up or scared, you will be. Run away, Run away, or you'll never be free.
In the night, in the day, he'll be there. In the morning, in the stars, he's in the dark. When you close your eyes, don't be long, because soon it'll be the end of this song.
In the end, in the end will you be free?
Danny Manny, Danny Manny, where will you be?

"Eric! Eric!" A little girl. I think... her name was Suzie, giggled at one of her friends, "Let's play house!" Suzie was staying the day with Eric, since their parents were good friends.

The friend sighed, rolling his eyes at the girl. "Suzie, I'm a guy. I don't play house. Suzie giggled, "Come on! I have a good idea! Pleeeeeeaaaaassseee?"

Those two had no clue. Oh, who am I? Oh, no. My name isn't Danny Manny. I won't tell you my name, but most people refer to me as The Storyteller. I watch these stories myself in my free time, so I don't always remember them completely.
However, I do know that all of them follow in the steps of Danny Manny. They say if you sing his little song, he appears.
Children like these two never listen, it's funny, really. How one simple tune can ruin a life.

Eric seemed annoyed at the little girl, "What's your 'idea?' Suzie smiled at that answer, "Let's play Danny Manny! That made Eric snort, as he found it funny, "That old widow tale?" Suzie smiled, "Mhm!"

So they did it. Fun for us, isn't it? They were innocent children at one point. They were nine.
So? They played house after nothing seemed to happen.

Suzie and Eric played, much to Eric's distaste. Eventually, he did begin to enjoy it. He had fun, even if he wouldn't admit it. They played all day, until eventually, Suzie had to go home. She didn't notice the doll hidden behind Eric's back.

It was late at night, and Eric was playing with the doll. He didn't want to play with it while his parents were awake, so, he played alone. He played a long time, humming the tune of that song softly. It was stuck in his head.

After he was done, he decided to go to his bed. He left the doll on a chair, snuggling into his fuzzy blanket.

In the middle of the night, he woke up to a small thump on the floor.
He looked to the side of his bed, noticing the doll fell from the chair. "Silly doll," he giggled, putting the doll back. He left the room, having midnight thirst.

When he returned, the doll was on the floor again. "Huh? I thought..." He went to grab it, his head turning to a noise in his closet. He curiously opened it, tilting his head when he didn't see anything. "I wonder what that was." He turned back to the doll, which was back on the chair.

He rubbed his eyes, blaming this weird night on his sleepiness. He smiled at the doll, "Goodnight?"

Too bad he thought the 'Good night' he heard was in his head.
