chapter 4

ariel

A Friday Night Football Game. This was her night. Usually she would think it's for the team but tonight it was to impress him. She had the goal to get his number, having an email because of the school website was so lame to her, she's never been on her computer this much until now.
She sighed as all the girls were getting dressed in uniform. These were the times she would begin to notice her body was different. Putting the uniform on was the worse for her, the dress was tight; for her you could see every inch of her body through it. While the average girl it looked slimming on. She had no time to examine her body but they just went out and began cheering on.

She couldn't pick out Luke.

She got nervous and bit her lip as she eyed around for Luke.
The cheers began to start, and Ariel just had to follow the cheers. She began to be nervous not seeing him. Her confidence slowly dropping.
By the end of the last cheer her confidence was at an all time low.

They walked off the court as she sat and eyed again. Everyone hung out after the game. People would try and talk to her but her brown eyes were too focused on her target; Luke.
She slowly walked off to the back of the bleachers as her eyes lit up; seeing the blue eyes from a far even though it was dark. She looked to also see a slim bonfire: Amber.

She raged with jealously. She didn't even know why she raged with jealousy. She walked up to Amber and tapped her back pretending to not notice Luke.

"Hey Amber whatcha doing I was looking for you?" She said with a fake, but believable smile across her face.

"Oh I'm just talking to Luke here, he is really funny." She said giggling a little, like she was thinking of a joke he said.

Ariel was about to slowly turn her eyes to the boy but didn't once she felt his eyes examining her. She felt a little insecure and confused.

Amber looked at her too and her eyes widened as she saw the big rip in her uniform. It was on the side letting her whole left side awkwardly flop out.

Amber tapped Ariel's side where the bare skin was and whispered "Go to the bathroom, and change as quickly as you can. "

Ariel noticed soon as she felt Amber's long nails touch her. Ariel's puffy cheeks quickly got red as she began to run to the bathroom, but began to be stopped by a bunch of drunk older frat boys who went to watch the game.
"Fatass where you going?" One said.

Ariel was shocked to hear that, like a stab in the neck.

"come and stay, open those big legs of yours." Another said as she pushed them away, them being very drunk made them fall, and ran to the bathroom.

She didn't cry, she kept filling her mind with they are just drink, they didn't mean it. Just drunk.

She changed into a simple pair of jeans and a blue tanktop, but now after what the frat boys said she put her sweater on top, covering her stomach.

She walked out to still see them talking, but a shot hit her heart when she saw amber slide a paper to him, obviously her number. She raced over in fury as she said trying to sound as sane as possible.
"What are you doing?"
Amber turned to look at her and hugged her "thank goodness your alright." She said as she hugged Ariel tightly, though Ariel pushed away quickly.

Amber's phone had a quiet ring as she looked at her phone "My mom is here!" She quickly went to hug Luke "Bye!" She said with a gentle smile as Amber then went to hug Ariel. "See you at practice tomorrow!" She said as Amber skipped away.

Ariel looked at Luke. Full of anger.
Like the spoiled bitch she always was she looked at him and asked.
"Do you.. Like Amber?"
Luke looked at her biting his peircing.
"Ariel I just met the girl." He said with a gentle sigh. He didn't want to upset Ariel.
"Fuck you." Ariel said sternly.
"I mean I been talking to you for a few weeks now, by email, waiting for your number and than you just give it to her after he first night?!" She said although really she was just insecure. She began to realize that Amber was skinnier, and prettier than her; also nicer. Why would he not like her? Amber was the sweetest girl she knew.
"I'm the one not talking to you? Your always avoiding me in the halls Ariel." He said quietly, and a bit annoyed.
Ariel knew he was right and didn't know what to say or do, she looked at him sternly.  For a few seconds without saying a thing.

Her lips quickly touched his when she slammed them roughly against his.  Luke eyebrow's raised as he put his hands on her wiast and she broke the kiss right after.  She ran away rather quickly.

She was wishing she wouldn't like it, but all through the rest of the Friday night she wanted more.
