"damn you, Sparrow!"
I shout at him, stumbling out of the water and onto the sand.
"it wasn't my fault!"
He yells back, standing ankle deep in the water, raising his arms in the air.
"oh no of course not. You only insulted the captain but you also kissed me in front of them! What were you thinking??"
I sit down under a tree and fold my arms across my chest.
"you're over reacting, dear. Anyway, we'll be off this island in a matter of days so it's fine."
"fine?? You just made another enemy! I'm sick of running into people who want to kill you, Jack."
"then let me handle them! I never asked you to fight for me!"
"I don't care whether you asked me to or not I love you, so I'll fight for you. Its just very frustrating having to kill people all the time."
Jack sits down on the sand beside me and takes my hand in his.
"I'm sorry, dearest but I can't help it! You should know best out of anyone."
I roll my eyes at him and stand up, pulling my flask out of my pocket. I take a drink and hand it to Jack.
"just try to be careful next time."
"I'll try."
"good. Also now that people know we're together, it'll be harder to find people who want to help us. No one wants to be caught dead with gay pirates."
Jack rolls his eyes and empties my flask.
I look around island, recognising it."hey Sparrow, does this place look familiar to you?"
"I don't know, dear. I've been on so many islands I've lost count."
I sigh and walk off, leaving him sitting in the shade of a big palm.
I haven't been walking long when I trip over something poking out of the sand. I regain my balance and pull it out of the ground. Its a bottle of some kind of alcohol. I hold onto it for Jack as I keep walking. I stop when I get to a area littered with about ten or so skeletons."oh that's right."
I say to myself, looking in the sand until I find a broken sword. I'd been quite sad about breaking it, but hadn't been able to pick up the pieces because we were being chased by some of Jack's enemies at the time.
I dropped the rusty handle back onto the ground and made my way back to where I'd left Jack, holding the bottle of rum to give to him but he's not there. I shrug and sit down, leaning against the tree to wait for him. I must doze off at some point because I wake up cold and in the dark. I look around for Jack but he's still not here. Cursing him, I wrap my arms around myself and fall back asleep, worry nagging at the back of my brain.
The next time I wake up, the sun is shining down on me. I still can't see Jack. I stand up and stretch, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
I easily find his deep footprints in the sand which I follow, keeping my hand in the handle of my sword, ready to draw it if necessary."Sparrow?"
I shout into the trees, following his prints deeper into them. I'm concentrating on going the right way when I'm tackled to the ground. I shout in surprise and try to draw my sword but my attacker is too quick, punching me in the face, dazing me enough for them to get into a position where they could press their knife into my neck. I freeze immediately, conscious of the cold metal against my skin. I still don't know who's threatening me as they roughly force me to stand and make me walk. I trip over roots and ditches of about 20 minutes until the person has me stop. I still know nothing of this person, they haven't even spoken yet. I stay quiet and obey this person, taking note of their stance and their confidence, knowing that they do this a lot.
I silently curse Jack for landing us on this stupid island.
The person pushes me into some sort of camp where on the other side, I can see Jack tied to a tree, sulking. I can't help but think that he looks quite hot. Jack spots me and raises an eyebrow. I shrug slightly in response as the person ties me to the tree right next to Jack's.
I finally get a good look at the person, who turns out to be a middle aged man with a greying beard and massive muscles. He looks English. French at least."how'd you get caught up in this?"
I ask Jack, easily loosening my hands and pulling them free.
"I don't exactly know, dearest. I mustn't have been paying attention."
"neither."
I say, uncorking my bottle and taking a deep draught whilst Jack stares jealously.
I wink at him and pull a knife out of my belt to cut his ropes.
Once I've done that, I hand him the bottle which he drinks deeply from. I watch amused and know its only a matter of time until he starts feeling the effects, so I grab his arm and drag him into the trees, out of the man's line of view and kiss Jack quickly."I'm glad you didn't die, Sparrow."
"me too, dear."
We break apart and quickly make our way back to the beach, but end up on the wrong side.
"no matter, darling."
Jack says, pointing.
I look and see the outline of a big land mass in the distance."that's all well and good, Sparrow, but how are we going to get there?"
He points again.
"use your bloody words, man!"
"there's a boat."
A small dinghy is tied to a tree not far from us.
"brilliant. What a great idea. Maybe, just maybe, if you looked to the right a bit you'd see the Black Pearl. You can be incredibly dumb sometimes, Jack."
"alright, let's go."
Sorry again, I know how to start chapters but never how to end them. Suggestions welcome.
