Chapter 19: 99

(A/N: This is going to include a lot of swearing because Jieun is extra like me. This chapter will be quite short since it's only Jieun here, hope you understand.)

Lee Jieun's POV

Woah! It's my first time here! Hello there from the fourth wall!

My eyes wandered aimlessly at the abandoned hotel. It's such a bummer to be here, I never liked it here anyway. I'm stuck at being broke just to repay my family for their hard work just so I can have the best education.

At least there is someone I can be with. Someone I have to be stuck with this shit, and I don't have a problem with that. She's the best friend I never found in school and I appreciate that. Kim Hyejin may be calloused on the outside, but she has a soft heart on the inside.

I played with the kunai, twirling it with my finger, praying it doesn't twirl away and hit someone. I glanced up using my eyes, only to watch over at Hawk.

He assigned me to the most ridiculous position yet, I was okay at being a hacker but he changed me as his second bodyguard and also a freaking ninja. Like, what the fuck? This is not Naruto, Hawk, you fucking idiot.

I never liked him. I don't care if he's with Hyejin-ssi, I hate his guts. More than I will ever hate a spoiler for my favourite animes. I saw him reach for his phone because someone was calling.

Since I can hear ridiculously clearly, I can manage to hear the caller. I know, ridiculous, right?

"Sir Hawk? We have a report," the indistinct voice of a familiar member said. Hawk sighed, scratching the back of his neck.

"What is it?"

"It's Pheonix-" When I heard that codename, I stopped twirling the kunai on my finger. I grasped the handle and listened even more. "I saw Pheonix with Jungkook, holding hands to watch a movie."

Not only did this made me worried for Hyejin's own life but it also made me happy that my ship is sailing. But some motherfucker is going to try and sink it. I glared at Hawk.

I have always-ALWAYS shipped Jungkook and Hyejin together. Like, they are not meant to be enemies, and Hyejin is not meant to be with some asshole like Hawk. And his little nickname for her; Kitty? Ugh! My heart is swooning.

Hawk's face turned to dismay after hearing that. I rolled my eyes knowing that this is going downhill. He walked into his office, while cautiously looking around. Good thing he didn't saw me looking.

I stood up quietly and walked to his door with no footstep sounds. Maybe that ninja training has been paying off, to fucking spy on my boss. Now, I just have to do the listening game.

"What? Why the hell would she be holding his hand?" Hawk sounds so disoriented about this and it quite funny.

"I don't know sir, but she looked so happy," the caller said. Honestly, I don't know anyone except for this guy [Hawk] and Hyejin-ssi in our group. And she's happy with Jungkook? Nice, she's never happy with this prick.

"Doesn't she remember that this asshole, Jeon Jungkook, killed the only family left in her blood?" Hawk shouted incredulously. I can sense him clenching his fist in consternation.

I sighed pitifully. Hyejin has been in the worst situation always. Her parents died,-which I had no idea about, I only knew the cemetery where her sister is buried in-her sister died like months after joining this shithole. I just really want the best for her even in the most ridiculous way, like falling in love with her sister's killer-

"But, sir, aren't you responsible for Mockingbird's death?" My adrenaline kicked in after hearing that sentence. What? My hand grasped even more tightly on the small weapon.

Mockingbird is Aera unnie's codename when she was still included in the group.

"Well, I am but she doesn't know that. I only assigned her to kill the people that were on my list and Jungkook is the last one."

I just cannot believe this. Hyejin's own partner betraying her by killing her sister. But why would he fucking do that?! Now, I take that back! I take back about wanting the best for her like falling in love with her sister's killer.

How the hell that only that member knows about it? Is he scared to tell me about it because I am Hyejin's friend? Well, he should be, because I ain't wasting one fucking second to not tell her. This fucking guy is an asshole. I don't think that asshole is even enough.

I put a hand on my face with a horrified expression. The way of hearing this news is sickening, it's fucking unsettling. Should I tell her? I mean, I did say I won't waste a second not telling her but she's going to the Philippines soon.

By the time I will decide to tell her, she would be on a plane. If I tell her, what would she do on that plane? Will she go mental?

I ruffled my hair in agitation. The speaking stopped indicating that they finished talking. I quickly run and roll to my recent position from last time before Hawk walked in.

He had been gaslighting Hyejin for weeks about this case. I can't just fucking believe him. How dare he do that to poor Hyejin. Don't worry Hyejin, I will try to take him down.
