I awoke to feel well-rested and warm. As the events of the previous days came back to me, I slid out of bed, my hands going to feel the thick wad of bandages coating the wound. It was still sore, but nothing was major. The house I was in was dark oak and stone, with small windows and old-time lanterns.  It was dark outside. Careful to not wake anyone who may be sleeping, I silently crept downstairs and emerged into a warm room with a large, wood-burning fireplace. Seating all around the room was the Avengers as well as Gillian, who had a bandage wrapped around his head. All attention turned to me, and I rushed over to my friend and wrapped him in a large hug. It had never occurred to me how much I relied on Gillian until Id almost lost him.

Steve Rodgers stood up from where he was sitting and continued to stare at me. I glanced down at the table they sat at and noticed a small amulet, glowing faintly blue. When I got closer, I felt a surge of peace and familiarity as I traced my finger over the Hippogriff insignia. I knew it from somewhere,  but the memory I had of it was faded and I couldn't figure out where.

"Do you know what this is, Jay?" I nodded slowly, my eyes tearing up as I slowly began to remember things. It was one of six magical amulets. This particular one belonged to my father, which he wore up until the time of his death, eight years ago.
"I do. This is one of six magical amulets that were created long ago. Each one holds a power that only one of certain linage can access. The amulets each have their own insignia, A phoenix, Manticore, Hippogriff,  Dragon, Basilisk, and the final one, the Centaur. This one has been in my family for generations. I didn't know we still had it after my father died." A lone tear dripped down my cheek as I picked up the amulet and stared at the intricate carving of the Hippogriff.

"What exactly does it do?" Tony asked gently, sensing this subject was sensitive to me. I traced my finger over the carving once more.
"Each amulet holds a great power that can only be harnessed to its full potential by a member of the linage that was originally introduced to it. For example, the Hippogriff amulet was given to my great great great grandfather. It has been passed through the linage until it reached my father...and now me." I hesitated before I tied the amulet around my neck and tucked it under my shirt.

Tony refrained from asking any more questions. Something felt wrong though.
"There must be something wrong. The amulets only seek out someone to bear them when something dangerous is coming." The Avengers gave each other looks, and I rubbed my forehead.
"Better get explaining before the world ends." I crossed my arms and looked around at the group. Rodgers sat down again and crossed his legs.
"We've been defending against an army that travels through time. The Margelli. Their leader, Prince Carmargos, has been working to achieve world domination, as usual. He's been traveling through time to get certain objects. Now we know what those objects are, which are the amulets."

Tony and Steve exchanged looks.
"You need to get those Amulets before he does. We'll get ready for the battles here." I exchanged a look with Gillian, who nodded slightly. I raised my gaze to look over the people gathered around me.

"Alright. Once I get these amulets, Prince Carmargos will be after me like ants to cookie crumbs. If he catches me it'll mean the overall end of...everything. Luckily the tole of time travel is harsh, too much of it too fast will result in a lot of damage to his mind. If he gets all six he'll be able to do whatever he wants and get away with it. We don't have long." I grabbed a packed backpack from the table in front of me and slung it over my shoulder. I tapped the amulet that lay against my chest and it vibrated gently. My heart beating wildly, I stood up and slipped on a black leather jacket.

"Good luck Jay." Murmured Natasha. I nodded my thanks to her, my tongue feeling dry and swollen. I walked through the hallways of the cabin, feeling all eyes on me. Pushing open the door I walked into the chilly morning air.

"Jay!" Called Gillain from the doorway. I stopped and turned around, knowing what he was going to say before he even said it.
"I'm going with you." I shook my head.
"I'm not going to risk your life, Gillian. You're already hurt, this is my battle." Gillian crossed his arms stubbornly.
"If you're going to war, Jay, I'm going with you. It's not noble to go alone right now, it's just stupid. I'm going to fight with you, you'll need me at some point."
I stared at him for a bit before nodding. It was nice to have someone by my side who cared about the mission as well as someone who cared about myself.

"Where do we start? We don't have any clues."  Gillian chimed, walking slightly behind me as we walked towards the horses.

[Author: Forgot to mention that in this dream, there were no cars and in most parts, it was entirely swords and shields combat styles, however, guns and more advanced weaponry were involved...but in very small amounts. I hope this doesn't confuse you guys. I'll be trying to do the Authors notes scattered around to ensure yall get the idea or aren't as confused as some of you might be.]

"I have a feeling. Like the Amulet is leading me towards it." It was true, something in my gut wanted me to go North.
"Care to share where your gut is having us go?" Gillian asked, voice sarcastic.
"North. I don't know where, but North." I swung myself into the saddle, allowing Hedge a bit more time to graze before yanking gently on her reins to get her moving.
"North? Directly north from here would be the Static mountains, home to the Stags of Arlimeer." Gillian pulled out his pack and stuck a toothpick in his teeth, chewing on it.
"Of course! The Hippogriff is often considered the being of Electricity. Of course the Amulet would pull towards those Mountains." I looked over to Gillian, who was mounted on his grey stallion and waiting for me.
"To the Mountains, we go then." We both urged our horses into motion, setting off towards the Nothern Static Mountains.
