Chapter 2: I Didn't Throw It

Next day (Sunday)

Talia POV:-

"Mum! We ran out of milk" I shouted from the kitchen after closing the refrigerator door. Seems like I have to serve myself with some fruits as my breakfast.

I grabbed an apple to munch on it. While I was rinsing the apple, mum entered the kitchen.

"Aww sweetie, I forgot to tell you that all the milk has been used up. I know how much you love your cereal in the morning," Mum said while giving me a sad smile.

"Thats alright, mum. Its no big deal. Moreover I was wondering if I could go and discover Cali a little. I wanted to go to the park nearby and I can also buy milk on my way home. Pleaseeee," I pleaded while taking a big bite of the apple.

"I promise that I will return home before its dark," I promised.

After a few minutes of thinking, she said, "Alright, You can go but please be careful, sweetheart."

"Okay, mum... I will be careful don't worry. Thank you sooo sooo muchh. Yay!" I exclaimed jumping with joy and excitement with my half eaten apple in one hand.

"And don't forget to bring the milk, silly," mum smiled.

"Will not forget mum," I smiled back.

*Ring Ring*

"Oh! Just a second please, sweetheart." mum said.

I nodded and she when out of the kitchen to talk.

It was really impressive how we organized the whole apartment just in one day. We had to anyways. We already knew how much busy our schedules would be after her joining work and me starting school, I thought while chewing on the half eaten apple.

My thoughts were interrupted when mum came inside the kitchen with an excited face which in turn made me excited.

"The call was from The Beverley Hills High School. They said that you are allowed to join classes from tomorrow. I will drop you to you school on you first day. Make sure to prepare everything today night so that your first day goes great," mum beamed.

"That's great, mum! I am really very excited to make new friends here." I said cheerfully after throwing the stalk of the apple in the dustbin.

_*(Time skips to the Afternoon)*_

After having lunch, I dressed up, ( the outfit is shown at the begining of the chapter), took my bag which contains my purse, chapstick and other necessary things and went downstairs.

"Mum! I am leaving! Byee!" I shouted to my mum while she was watering in the plants.

"Alright! Have fun sweetie and take care! I love you!" She shouted back from the backyard.

"Will do mum! Love you too" I shouted after closing the door.

"Let's Explore!" I thought to myself with full of excitement.

I can recall that I had a glimpse of a small park when we came here. Let's start our journey from there.

I started walking towards the park. It is a beautiful sunny day which makes everything even better. Seems like everybody is enjoying their weekend. I could see many people strolling around with their friends, partners, children,pets. I really miss my old friends though. It was hard leaving but we will always remain in each others hearts. I smiled thinking of them.

Oh! Seems like I got to my destination. There are so many trees and plants with children playing around everywhere. In the swings, building sand castles, playing on see-saws. Wow, this really reminds me of my childhood.
