Our lunch after my comment was almost silent. We sat together on the couch that looked out at the city. But it still wasn't awkward. It was comfortable and I enjoyed it. A lot.

It went by too quickly.

As he was leaving my office I stopped him.

"Come over to my place on Sunday. We can have lunch and talk about everything and then order pizza for dinner. But only if we get pineapple." I said pointing my finger up at him playfully.

"Anything for you." He whispered and kissed me on the forehead.

How I longed to feel him against my lips. I wanted him too so bad but I was terrified of what it meant. I wasn't over him. I loved him with every tiny fiber of my being.

He made me feel alive. I haven't felt like this in over a year.

But I can't forget what he did. But would I ever? Isn't the saying you should forgive but never forget?

It was driving me crazy. I watched him walk down the hallway and get into the elevator. I stared at him and as the doors were closing he looked up and saw me still staring. He blew a kiss and gave me the biggest smile.

My heart completely melted. Ughhh....I feel like a damn teenager again.

Of course the two days dragged by. I ran errands on Saturday. Grocery shopping, dry cleaning, paid bills while waiting in line at the coffee shop, ordered all my cleaning supplies, and then finally it was time to order the pizza.

One large hawaiian for me and one large veggie pizza with pepperoni for him. Never changes. Stopped by the corner store to pick up a 24 pack of corona with some lime and salt.

Now to wait. He was supposed to be there at 530pm and it was 515. I was getting even more nervous ad it inched closer. And of course when that happens time stands still when you get nervous.

A knock on the door made me jump out of my seat.

It's just the pizza calm down.

I shakily opened the door to see him smirking on the other side holding the 2 pizzas. "Met him on the way up." He said smiling.

I smiled back and started, "How-"

His finger stopped me from talking anymore. "No. Because I know you bought the beer and I know how much a 24 pack of corona costs in this town." He said.

I shook my head, of course he knew. "Fancy dinner dates." I whispered lowly.

"Always my favorite night of the week." He said placing the pizza down on the counter.

Fancy dinner night was once every 2 weeks we would scrounge around what money we had and get takeout and beer. Or wine. Whatever was cheaper that weekend. We would start drinking Saturday night and in to the earlier morning hours of Sunday. Ending up tangled and on top of each other at any place in the apartment.

Yes once we woke up in the bathtub. Fully clothed. No water. Don't ask because we have no clue either.

At this point in my inter monologue I was staring at him as he spoke. Did I know what to he was saying? Hell no. I was paying attention to how his arm muscles rippled in his cut off t-shirt when he reached for the paper plates. Or how his lips wrapped around the beer bottle. Or how his accent made me melt in a huge puddle whenever he opened his mouth.

Then his speaking stopped and he was standing there smiling at me. His teeth were of course perfect too.

His touch brought me out of my trance.

"You ok?" He asked softly. His finger running down my cheek and I flushed. He caught me staring at him for like the 736,354,930,274,648 time since I first laid eyes on him.

"Ummmm...yeah. Sure." I muttered lamely.

He laughed softly and handed me a plate of pizza and a beer. Already with a lime wedge in it and salt around the rim.

"TV or music?" I asked finally tearing my eyes away from him.

"Music." He said and I grabbed my phone and hooked it up to my Bluetooth speakers. Post Malone blared through the speakers and he laughed out loud. "Sorry. That's what I was listening to today while running errands." I said loudly over the music.

I switched it to my Chill playlist on my player and turned it down so it wasn't blaring. The music now in control I sat down on the couch and sat Indian style and faced him. He did the same as he started munching on his pizza.

After eating our pizza and us being on our 3rd beers we were finally starting to loosen up.

"So I guess it's time." He whispered slightly. We had moved closer to each other over time and our knees were touching.

"Yeah. Do you want to start?" I ask looking over at him.

"Where do you want to start?" He asked.

"From the beginning. So we can remember the good times too." I whispered and he nodded smiling.

I looked up at him as he began smiling. "I remember walking on stage with my drumsticks and seeing your brother and you walking in. Then the boys ran up to you yelling and hugging you. I knew your brother at that point for a few years and I had heard about you. But you were elusive. You never showed up to our stuff. Always busy studying or working. Then when I finally saw you I had no clue what to say to you. You definitely caught me off guard." He started.

I laughed. "Are you serious? I remember you sneering at me when we first met. You scared the crap out me. Your hair was pushed back with a bandana and you walked out with your drum sticks. My brother caught me staring at you so many times." I said laughing.

And just liked that we were reminiscing. It would only be a bit longer until we got to the serious stuff and I wanted to enjoy these few moments with him.
