Avneil: Destiny Brought Us Together.

Chapter 9

Avneil came out of their wonderland hearing throat clearing sounds. They immediately broke the eyelock and start looking here and there. Neil makes Avni stand properly. Avni looks down feeling shy. Neil scratches the back of his head avoiding eye contact with anyone. DD and Ali were giving them teasing glances but at the same time they are fearing to tease them, scared of Neil's reaction.

The air around started getting awkward. Avni and Neil were looking at each other with their peripheral vision which was also noticed by Ali. Neil clears his throat and decides to break the ice. His mind was covered with only one question. Who was she? Is she his Avni? His heart conveys to him that she is his Avni but he decides to hear it from her.

 Neil- Umm.. I am sorry. Actually main jaldi mein tha isliye takar hogayi. I am really sorry. Umm.. I am sorry. Actually I was in a hurry so we collided. I am really sorry. 

Ali remembered him scolding Riya. That eye comment was so rude and here he is saying sorry. He and DD were having unbelievable look.  

Avni- Arre, No problem. Main bhi jaldi mein hi aa rahi thi. Woh  meri file yahan reh gayi thi isliye. Arre, No problem. I was also in a hurry. I left my file here that's why.

Neil looks at the file in his hands and realizes that it belongs to her. He shows it to her while asking with a huge smile.

Neil- Yeh file hai kya? Is this the file you are looking for?

Avni- Oh yes. Yahi file hai. Thank you. Oh yes. This is the file. Thank You.

Neil gave the file to Avni with a bright smile while Avni admired his smile and his shinny eyes. Their hands brushed while handovering the file. Their eyes immediately locked and they continued looking at each other. 

Ali- Guys? Earth to Ananya, Neil? Hello?

They broke their eyelock and Avni immediately gripped the file. Neil glared at Ali for a sec and diverted his gaze towards Avni and smiled sightly.

Neil- Itna kuch bol liya par abhi tak apna naam nahi bataya. (Monologue) Pata hai file pe Ananya Verma likha hai par mujhe aisa lag raha hai ki yahi meri Avni hai. Please kehdo ki tum hi meri Avni ho. We talked so much but till now we don't even know each other's names. (Monologue) I know that according to this file her name is Ananya Verma but I have a strong feeling that she is my Avni. Please say that you are my Avni.

Avni smiled hearing him. It wasn't required for her to listen to his name to identify him. She already knew it was her Neil. She wanted to hug him that instant and tell him that she was his Avi. Her Neilu's Avi but she was helpless. She can't drag him into the darkness she is in. 

He has to live his life peacefully. She knows if she tells that she is Avni then Neil would abandon everything for her but that would wreck havoc in his life. She sighed deeply trying to control her erupting emotions.

Avni- An-Ananya Verma. 

Neil who was looking at her eagerly had a disheartening expression on his face but immediately masked it with his smile and forwarded his hand.

Neil- Neil. ACP Neil Khanna.

Avni held his hand with a smile with her eyes slightly  tearing up, clearly proud of him. This was noticed by Neil. He was more than sure that she was his Avni. He decided to keep an eye on her. 

Avni- Glad to meet you, ACP Khanna.

Neil- Arre, aise formality ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. You can call me Neil. Arre, No need of this formality. You can call me Neil.

Avni- Fir toh tumhe bhi mujhe Ananya bulana hoga. Then you also have to call me Ananya.

Neil- Why not? So friends?
