Chapter 7

Midday, 

Chamko Café,

Ali was rushing around the café serving and taking orders from the customers. After Avni went he tended to involve himself more into developing his café as it was his and Avni's dream. He charmingly smiled at the customer after noting down his order and then informed the staff about it. He walked towards the cash counter and took his seat.

He reminisces the moments He, Neil and Avni spent together. He started smiling while a lone tear escaped from his eyes thinking about the sufferings of Avni and that fateful day 15 years ago. His mind slowly wandered to the time he was kidnapped by Dayawanti. He remembered how Riya tried to help him. 

Flashback: 

15 years ago,

 Wanting to threaten and trouble Avni, Dayawanti Mehta had kidnapped Ali. He was tied in the storeroom. Almost 3 hours had passed since he was in there. He closed his eyes not wanting to see the darkness anymore. Suddenly, he felt a beam of light. He slowly opened his eyes to see a girl peeking inside the storeroom.

The girl entered the storeroom as quietly as possible. She moved towards Ali and carefully untie him not wanting to make any noise. Ali was looking at her in astonishment. 

Ali- (whispers)- Tum kaun ho? Aur meri madad kyun kar rahi ho? Who are you? And also why are you helping me?

Girl-(whispers back)- Tum pagal ho? Yahan main tumhare haath khol rahi hoon aur tum mere saath question answer khel rahe ho. Chup karke baithe raho aur mujhe yeh kholne do. Tum Avni ke dost ho na isliye tumhari madad kar rahi hoon. Apni behen ke dost ki madad nahi karungi toh kiski karungi? Isilye apna muh band rakho aur dadi ke aane se pehle mujhe mera kam karne do. Are you mad? Here I am untying  your hands and you are playing question answer  with me. Just keep quiet and let me open this. You are Avni's friend so I am helping you. If I won't help my sister's friend then who will?  So shut your mouth and let me finish my job before Dadi comes back.

Ali-(monologue)- Kya pagal ladki hai? Mujhe chup rehne ko bol ke khud hi bak bak kare ja rahi hai aur kya kaha isne Avni ki behen? Matlab yeh Riya hai. Wohi hogi. What a mad girl she is? She is telling me to shut up and she herself is going on speaking from that time and what did she say? Avni's sister. So she is Riya.

Ali was admiring Riya when she was indulged in opening the ropes. Riya looks at him and then narrows her eyes at him and then again indulge in opening the ropes. She finally succeeds in it and make Ali escape from the storeroom through the small awning window.

Flashback ends:

Ali smiles at the memory of their first meeting. His trance breaks due to the ringing of his phone. He glances at his phone only to find Riya's name flashing on it. He receives the call immediately.

On call:

Ali- Hello, Han Riya bol. Hello, Yes Riya tell.

Riya- Ali, aaj tu free hai kya? Mujhe tujhse milna tha. Ali, are you free today? I actually wanted to meet you. 

Ali looked around at the busy café and the waiters rushing around serving the orders, his face then formed a sheepish smile while he said.

Ali- Han main free hoon. Tu aaja. Yeah I am free. You come here.

Riya-(excitedly)- Thik hai main adhe ghante mein aa rahi hoon. Okay I am coming within half an hour.

She hangs up the call while Ali gets up to help his staff around and complete his work as soon as possible.
