Chapter 10: Problems

"Hey, Scorpius."

"Oh, hey Avan." Scorpius responded

"Hey, so..." Avan started to say, "I'm really sorry for what I did. I guess I just went too far and ended up hurting you. I'm sorry."

"Hey, It's alright. I'm fine now. Just, I don't know, maybe don't be too impulsive next time..."

"What do you mean impulsive!?" Scorpius saw that Avan was swaying to the wrong side of this conversation, "I can control my impulses fine!"

"Well, Avan, you're taking this the wrong way-"

"No, I'm not, you think I can't control my actions!? That I'm just some kind of animal that does what it wants without thinking!? No Scorpius, I will not have this! I WILL NOT! I AM NOT AN ANIMAL OR HAVE SOME KIND OF MENTAL ILLNESS!" Avan was getting red hot, "At least I'm not an unkind person like you who can't accept an apology, WITHOUT MAKING THINGS WORSE!"

"A-Avan, t-that's not what I meant-" Scorpius stuttered,

"NO, I will not listen to you if this IS WHAT YOU DO!" Avan turned her back to Scorpius and walked off.

"Shit..."

Scorpius walked towards the common room, but on the way there, he saw Lucas and Albus talking to each other, also walking towards the common room. I can't be with them right now; I need to be alone, Scorpius thought. He turned around and started to walk away, but just as he was about to make his way around the corner, hoping they wouldn't notice him,

"Scorpius!" Albus called,

Scorpius ran around the corner and through the halls, running away from Albus, running and running and then found himself at the front of a door. He had never seen it before, I'm sure this door wasn't here before... He opened the door and inside were two daybeds and some lounge chairs, just what he needed. Scorpius shut the door and flung himself onto the bed with teary eyes.

Why can't I ever just have a good impression on people. No one talked to me at school until after all that time turner stuff. They just never liked me, they drifted away, and soon, Albus and Lucas will too. Just like I did with Avan, I'll hurt them somehow, and they'll desert me as well... Scorpius started to shed tears,

"Why can't I make any friends, and why can't I keep any of the ones I make!?" Scorpius wailed to himself through tears.

"Where's he going? Scorp! Scorpius!" Albus yelled as he saw him run 'round the corner, "Is he alright?"

"I think he just needs to be alone, it's alright. Just let him be for a bit."

"But he ran away, he needs help!"

"He ran away, exactly. If he ran away from us, I think he needs to be alone."

"Okay..."

"He'll come to us when he's ready."

After a few minutes, Albus couldn't bare it, "I'm going to the bathroom." He said

"Hm? Oh, okay."

Instead though, Albus started to look for Scorpius.
