While Tyrone was eating lunch with his "friends" , I decided to make friends with Xemina.
Xemina didn't seem to be the only one who thought "no mixing" was stupid.
"Hi! May I sit here?" I asked Xemina and her Asian friend. "Um, yeah sure!" Xemina said."Thanks!" I shot back.
I figured out that the Asian girls name was Linn and she had came from Vietnam. Xemina was from Colombia. We talked about how what is now called as racism was wrong and that we should stand against it.
"We should start with something small, but still important" Linn suggested. "Yeah , perfect!" I said. "Let's start with... right now! The friend table!" Said Xemina. "Yeah!" I said in agreement."people could come here and be friends with someone outside there skin tone" said Linn.
I hope tomorrow the friend table will be full on people who believe in anti-racism. I wonder who will sit with us?
