Osprey walked through the town silently, on her way to the castle, knowing that what would come next would ruin her good mood. The guards nodded at her as she passed through the gates.
"How was Caiman m'lady?" asked a familiar voice.
Osprey stopped in her tracks and turned her head and replied," He is well, and sent me to question the traitor."
The lieutenant nodded,"I have faith that you will figure it out, you always seem to get it done," he said nervously.
"Tell me, what's your name soldier?" she questioned as she cocked her head to the side.
She fidgeted with her hands,"My name is Delta m'lady," she responded, anxious for her reply.
She gave her a small nod, staring her straight in the eyes,"Your words are bold, soldier, do you know that speaking out could cost your life?"
She started to tremble, her execution could dishonor her family, she nodded,"I believe that everyone should be able to have a voice, here, they think that they can take that away, but they're wrong. Everyone should be able to roam free, but instead we're forced to stay in this hellhole. We should,'t be confined by the Light, yet here we stand, mindless idiots believing every word they tell us."
She stepped up in front of her, asking in a low tone,"Are you aware that you are speaking to the royal family? I could tell anyone and you would be dead by nightfall, you are completely aware of this, so why even start the subject?"
She lowered her voice so that even Osprey had difficulty hearing her,"I know you feel the same way too. So did Cyprus, and she dared to try to help you break free. If you want to take this offer, I'll be waiting here at 2300, bring Cyprus and anything you can't leave behind. Don't bring food, just another outfit or two, and a few valuable belongings. I'll wait for two minutes and then I'm leaving."
Osprey nodded,"Carry on then, Lieutenant Delta," she walked on, her head clouded with questions, she made her way to the holding cells.
The dungeon was empty, no guards, no prisoners being held for execution, just Osprey and Cyprus, soon to be free men.
