Osprey PoV
After dinner was over, I went to go help cleanup when I saw a small group around the fire, I heard my name multiple times, they were making bets on me. I listened in to see what information I could acquire.
I hear one let out a hearty laugh, "The kid has lived as royalty all her life, she won't last a second here. I say tomorrow she'll go running back to the palace,"
Another one chimed in "Give her a chance, I say a week."
The third chuckled, "You're being too generous, I say in 3 days she'll be complaining that she's hungry, royalty eats all day."
The fourth just rolled his eyes, "You're all idiots, she may seem small but she has a muscular build. If you look closely she has calluses all over her hands, and if you paid closer attention you can see her ribs starting to show. From what I know she spent all mealtimes feeding the people and smuggling food. Never underestimate a possible opponent."
I had to stop myself from smiling, I made my way over and sat down "What's your name?"
The soldier gave me a warm smile "I'm Apache, I'm one of Delta's buddies. She actually talks about you a lot. You're destined to be a great soldier."
God I was tired of hearing that line,, "You have no idea how many times I've heard that with the prophecy and all-"
He shook his head, "I'm not talking about the prophecy, you're raw power and skill makes you the perfect subject."
I nodded, unsure what to do with the compliment, it was rare that someone was nice to me, "Thank you... I guess"
He chuckled,"I'll see you around kiddo, prove my friends wrong."
She nodded, his friends sat there dumbfound. She went back to her tent and received the distress call, running to Delta, shaking violently, "Delta, Kaito has returned.."
A/N: If you want to skip the next chapter you can, there's nothing there but the specifics of Apollo's trauma, there is nothing crucial to the plot. If you are easily triggered then I strongly advise that you skip on to chapter 10
