6.50am. My alarm wakes me up, and I turn off the annoying sound before I throw my phone at the wall. I'm so warm in my bed right now, it would be a shame to get out of it. Unfortunately, it's my first day at college today, so I have to. I moved from London to Birmingham this summer, so I have no choice but to go to college over here. It was sad leaving my friends. It's quite unfortunate that I didn't actually like any of them though. I deleted them all off my phone. The problem with moving to this college is that I'm starting in year thirteen, so everyone already knows each other. I'm going to be alone. I mean it doesn't really bother me that much. I just hope I make at least one friend.

My parents split up just before summer, on my birthday. That's why we moved. Mom wanted to get far away from him. He told me that I can still meet up with him, but I don't know if I'll ever be bothered to actually go to London. Like ever. But it's nice of him to care about me. My mom and I live in a shitty little house in Birmingham, which is great. In London, I lived in a beautiful modern terraced house. Here, I live in a council house. I can clearly see who has the most money out of the both of them. I'm an only child, which I like. I also like wearing stylish outfits. You won't see me wearing an outfit that didn't take like an hour to choose and isn't like over one hundred  quid.

I get dressed in a nice black crop top, blue ripped mom jeans, flannel and white air forces. I also put on a lot of jewellery like chains and earrings to make a good first impression. At college, I will be studding drama so I feel as though people will be wearing similar outfits to me.

"Amber! Come on, breakfast in on the table!" I hear my mom call from the kitchen. I take one more look at myself in the mirror and I head down to the cold, small kitchen to see a plate with two pieces of toast on. I smile and sit down at the table to eat the soggy, undercooked toast. My mom then passes me a cup of tea and sits down with me, "So are you excited for your first day at your new college?" she questions.

I shrug my shoulders "I guess."

"Oh, come on. You'll have a great time. Also, you look very pretty today so you'll attract a few of the males."

I laugh a little "Thanks, I think."

My mom lets out a laugh "You're welcome. I know this is all a bit different a strange for you. starting a new school, new house, just me. But everything will be fine soon. We both just need to work together to make this work. I also now work full time, so we'll be getting money coming through in no time."

"Will we live here forever?"

"Well, I'm not sure yet. This will have to do for now. We just have to see."

I nod and finish my toast. I drink my tea pretty fast and my mom drives me to the college, and I get out. "Have fun darling! I'll see you later!" She shouts and drives off, leaving me on my own. I stare at the large building as the sun shines on the windows, reflecting out and blinding me. I take a deep breath and start walking to the entrance. As I walk through the door, I head for the front desk and the receptionist gives me a timetable and a lanyard. She then takes me to the first lesson as I'm unsure of where to go. It's in the auditorium. I thank her and walk in to see a few students sitting on the seats and a woman, who I suppose is the teacher, standing on the stage, addressing her class. Everyone stares at me as I make my way down the steps.

"Hello and good morning miss Lewis. How amazing it is to see you today" the teacher says, loudly.

"Morning" I say quietly, and everyone is still just staring at me.

"Class, this is Amber Lewis, and she is new today. She is from London so please make her welcome as she doesn't know anyone here" the woman announces and I get a few smiles and a few waves. "Amber, my name is Alexandra. You can call me Alex though. I am your teacher for the next year. Have you ever done drama in college before?"

"Yes. In my old college" I mutter.

"Brilliant! You'll be fine here then. Could you please take a seat and I'll start my lesson off today by explaining what we will be doing this year."

I take a seat next to a few girls who pull a fake smile at me. I smile back a listen to Alex explain what I'm in for. Everything sound fun and exciting, but everyone else keeps moaning and groaning. Strange. She then tells us all to partner up with someone and discuss what we know about the practitioner 'Stanislavski'. Luckily, I know a lot about him as he's my favourite. The girl next to me turns to me and smiles. She is what i'd describe as a goth. She is wearing thick eyeliner, skirt, fishnets, black crop top with the band 'Arctic Monkeys' on (which I love) and she has doc martins on her feet. Honestly, I love it. She is also very pretty.

"Hey" she says, blankly.

"Hi" I reply.

"Do you know who he is?"

"Yeah. Do you?" I question back.

"Perfect. We don't have to talk about it then" she says, causing there to be an awkward silence.

I break the silence by saying "So, is this course any good?"

"Oh my God. I love your accent by the way. And it's okay, I guess" she says, in a brummie accent.

"Thank you so much. Your accent it... different."

She laughs "You mean shit."

I laugh "It's not too bad. What's your name?"

"Ava."

"Ah okay. Nice name."

"I don't think so. It sounds to nice to be my name to be honest."

"I guess so-" As I'm speaking, I hear the door swing open. My eyes travel up to see a very handsome guy strolling through the door. I feel my mouth drop open as I watch the attractive man hop down the stairs, almost in slow motion. It's almost like I can hear music playing in my head. He kind of looks like Robert Pattinson; good jawline, sort of reddish hair, but it's mainly brown, tall, smallish lips, just beautiful to be honest. As he almost reaches the bottom, his eyes connect with mine for a second. I feel a connection, but then it's broken when I begin to hear Ava speaking.

"Amber?" Ava asks. I stop daydreaming and look at Ava.

"Yeah, um. Sorry. I got distracted" I say.

"By Adam I'm guessing."

"Uh... yeah."

"God. You're just like the rest of them."

"What?"

"Pretty much every girl has fancied Adam Prescott."

"Prescott? I recognise his last name."

"Yeah. His parents are famous... not in a good way though. They're murderers."

I pull a shocked expression, "Really?"

"Yeahhh. I wouldn't be surprised if he were one too." As she is talking, I stare at Adam who is getting told off for being late. She continues, "So, I'd stay away from him if I were you. You really never know. Also, he is really weird."

I look back at Ava "Does anyone ever say he looks like Robert Pattinson?"

"Yeah, he gets that a lot."

"Has anyone ever dated him like in this class?"

"Nope. I don't think he's ever had a girlfriend."

"Is he gay?"

She snorts "No. But he's a virgin, so maybe."

I let out a breath of air when laughing and then Alex tells everyone to share ideas. As people are talking, I can't help but look at Adam. He is sitting far away from everyone and is just staring into space. He looks cute.
