Mom!" I scream loudly hoping she'd hear me.
I stood in front of her hospital bed trying to reach her but every time I tried to call for her, no reply. She just lay there, lifeless. I needed to get to her, to help her. She needed me but I couldn't help. I felt so helpless. "Margot!!!" I hear faintly but not knowing where it was coming from. Then I woke up.Margot
I woke to the sound of banging against my door. It startled me a bit but it didn't scare me.
I groaned loudly as i got out of bed and felt the cold tile beneath my feet. I forced myself to get up and walk over to the door.
Rubbing my eyes as i reached out to turn the knob, I saw sat on the floor playing with his toy car, my 5 year brother.
"Zander," I say in annoyance, "I told you to stop waking me up so early." As I laugh and smile at him. He was so adorable.
He giggles and starts sliding his tiny red toy car into my feet. I jump at the touch and stubbed my toe on the wall. Ouch.
God i was so tired from staying up so late doing last minute packing for college. I leave around noon tomorrow and i'm not prepared. I always knew it was coming but it came too fast.
My thoughts are interrupted when my dad calls for me, "Margot, get ready! We have to pick up your cap and gown at the school and then you still need enough time to come home and get ready for pictures with your friends!" I hear from the distance as his voice echoes through out the house.
My dad. I love my dad but sometimes I can't stand him. Ever since he got with my stepmom i haven't been able to spend as much time with him. I miss him.
I step around Zander trying not to step on his tiny fingers. I walk towards the bathroom in a slow manner. I was so drained.
I got ready as usual, brushing my teeth, and combing my long dirty blonde hair. I hated my hair. It always got tangled and was in the way half the time, especially when I was reading or drawing. I wanted to cut it all off but my mom always used to tell me she loved my long hair. I felt like she used to tell me that because she lost all of hers.
Right... my mom. It's been 4 years since she died. Oh how i missed her. I wish she was here with me today. To see me graduate and walk across that stage. What i would give to see her again.
"Margot!" I hear behind the bathroom door. God i hated that voice. My stepmom.
"Yes?" I reply in annoyance.
"Hurry up, i'm taking you to pick up your cap and gown for graduation! I'm so excited!" she says.
I let out a groan, loud enough for only me to hear. I prepare myself to open the door to see her wearing a tight fitted sundress that made her breasts really noticeable. Why did my dad have to pick someone so young?
She's 28 and i'm 18, we're so close in age and i find it very uncomfortable.
"Give me 5 minutes, I just need to change," I say.
"Alright, i'll be waiting downstairs!" she replies with a big smile showing off her perfectly straight teeth. She was far from perfect.
I threw on some blue jean mom jeans, a black crop top, and a flannel. I grab my bag and slip on my black high top converse. I never go anywhere without them. They're my favorite pair of shoes.
I walked downstairs, kissed my dad and Zander goodbye, and walked out the front door.
