a/n : sorry i didn't update yesterday, got caught up with stupid schoolwork :( hope this chapter makes up for it.

"gosh today sucks," i thought to myself. i was filling up the gummy worms in the candy aisle, bored to death. i could've been at the movies by now, but my coworker jacob needed someone to replace his shift and i unfortunately owed him a favour.

"hey guys, so first of all im gonna go grab the gummy worms." i heard someone saying. it was almost a whisper, but guessing he wasn't that far away from me, i could still make out what he was saying.

and hey guys ? was he talking to someone ? i mean, i didn't hear anyone else.

just as i grabbed the last packets of the gummies, a man in his twenties holding a camera came around the corner. he stood there awkwardly, not wanting to get in the way of me working.

i noticed him standing through the corner of my eye, moving aside to allow him to grab the gummies. "oh, im so sorry!"

"no, no, no worries." he said with a smile. his voice was the same as the dude i heard just a few moments ago.

i placed the last packet onto the row and moved to the taco shells, the aisle just next to the candy aisle.

suddenly a distant voice near the gummy section i was just at spoke up.

"karl?" a voice asked. this voice wasn't the same as the dude i bumped into, so im guessing the dude i met was named karl.

"yeah? oh yes yeah that is me." i heard the dude i had just recently learnt the name of answer.

god stop being a busybody, i thought. i averted my focus onto the taco shells on the floor. the rack was high up, so i had to use a chair. grabbing two boxes at a time, i stepped onto the chair and continued my work.

a voice caught my attention. it was heading towards my direction.

"just met a fan, feeling good." the voice said, giggling. "okay, okay now let's get the taco shells." oh, it was karl.

i moved my chair a tad bit to the side to not get in the way again, giving him space to get the taco shells on the right. he reached me, his camera now by his side.

his gaze met mine. i flashed a tiny smile, out of courtesy. he lowkey kinda cute, i thought to myself. y/n no he's a stranger, i continued.

i saw his hands stretching up to grab a box of the tacos, but not quite reaching them. i didn't want to laugh, so i just stood there carrying on my job. he was still trying, getting on his toes to give himself a height boost. i could feel the red blush creeping onto his face out of embarrassment. bro what do i do, i said to myself. help him you dumbass, i finally thought.

"having trouble there, karl?"

yeah, uh a piece of advice, you don't mention the name of someone who doesn't know you. especially when you don't know the dude too.

"oh, uh you know me?" he asked. he didn't seem that surprised i knew him, which confused me a little.

"oh, uh, yeah. i-i mean no, no i don't. i just seem to know your name." yeah, i sounded like a god tier stalker.

he looked at me, eyebrows raised. i mean i don't blame him, i suck at social interaction.

"i- oh god this is terrible. i uh actually heard you and some other person in the other aisle just now. i heard him say karl so i assumed it was your name." i explained quickly, hoping the awkward tension washed away.
