Iwa woke up this morning in a desperate need of coffee. This week the boys were training hard for the upcoming tournament and thus no matter what time they went to bed they'd always wake up feeling exhausted.

Yawning and scratching his already messed up bedhead he went to the kitchen to pour a hot cup of latte for himself. Oikawa was sitting on the couch, not ever looking back at Iwa, sipping his own coffee.

They both had passed the stage of not even being in the same room, but they still hadn't spilled a single word. Every day for the past few days went by in silence.

It wasn't much of an anger silence. The kind you keep when you are holding a grudge or you are angry at someone. It was more like a silent treatment. But in this case a real treatment. Oikawa and Iwa needed some time of quietness, to have time to think and fix things, at least between them...

While in the kitchen, Iwa was waiting for the coffee to get ready in the coffee machine, tapping his fingers nervously on the counter. The device beeped and Iwa took his big grey mug out of a cupboard to fill it with his warm latte.

He carefully walked with the mug back to his bedroom, not really wanting to sit in an awkward atmosphere with Oikawa. He disappeared in the corner of the next corridor, when he heard Oikawa sobbing.

He then started talking.

"You know why I am like this Iwa-chan..." He kept sniffing his nose.

"You know better than anyone..."

Iwa was biting his lips hidden behind the wall, listening carefully to his friend.

"I've been selfish those past years living with you..."

"Never asked about how you felt..."

"You've always talked about how I keep hurting people's feelings..."

"Maybe deep inside of you when saying those things you put yourself in other people's shoes..."

"I very well know you haven't forgotten...because I haven't either..." Oikawa's tears were rolling endlessly on his cheeks, and so did Iwaizumi's.

"You know what I am talking about right?"

"I betrayed you... I became just like my father..."

"That horrible night..."

"You came back from that trip so excited..."

"Ready to surprise Kira..."

"And we surprised you instead..."

Iwa was shedding hot tears, while his hand tightened around the mug and it was trembling like crazy.

"So I don't blame you for beating me at the party..."

"Maybe part of you did it so you could release some more anger from back then..."

"I'll get it if you won't ever forgive me... I don't know how you forgave me in the first place..."

"I've been such a sucky friend to you Iwa-chan! And I'm so so sorry!" Oikawa was sobbing hard, not being able to breathe.

Iwa had walked silently back to the kitchen and placed the coffee on the counter, piercing Oikawa's back with his eyes. Oikawa turned around with eyes all red and puffy from the crying.

"I'm sorr-"

Before he knew it Iwa had reached him and pulled him in a big friendly hug. Gripping Oikawa's shirt tightly, he spilled his first words in days. Oikawa with his face on Iwa's shoulder had eyes wide in shock.
