Play Time
Y/N's POV
After texting session with Tsukishima, the team was called to warm up 20 minutes before the match.
Since I'm in a bad mood, May told me to do simple warm ups because I'm playing as a substitute. After warming up, Isabelle called me.
"Y/N,", she called,
"Hm?", I responded,
"Gome-", I cutted her off,
"Apologize later, we have something to do.",
After telling her to apologize later, I went to Kira, our third year and second manager, to get my towel and water bottle,
"Arigato, Kira-san.",
"No prob. Why won't we talk at the ramen place later. Just the two of us.", she suggested,
"Sure. Its still tonight, right?",
"Yup. Why you asking?",
"I'm hanging out with someone later.",
"Oh~, maybe its that Tsukishima guy.",
"Yeah, yeah. Imma go back now. Wish us luck.",
"Yup, good luck N/N!"
I walked to the bench and saw my team mates waiting for me,
"Just because you're on bench today, you can come late.", Jen told me,
"Gomen, gomen. I had to talk to Kira-san about something.",
After talking to some of my team mates, the match started. I hate being on bench but when I'm not in a mood, I'm fine being on bench.
After our team earned three points, they substituted our libero with me. I walked onto the court and told Lillie something,
"I want my toss high and make it slow to go down. That's my only request. Thanks.", I said to her blandly,
"Uh, you sure? We'll need our normal set for our quicks.", she asked,
"Yup, I just wanna block today.",
"Uh, okay. That's noted."
I went to the middle in front row and positioned myself. Suddenly, Kate, Fukurodani Girls' spiker and a first year, asked me something before our captain served,
"You not in the mood today?", she asked,
"Yeah. That's why I'm on bench.",
"Well then, may the best team win.", she said with a sweet smile,
"Yeah. May the best team win.", I returned my smile which was practically fake,
Tsukishima's POV
Our game just ended a few minutes ago, so I decided to check Y/N's match since she promised me that we're gonna hangout later. I walked out of my seat and started to go up,
"Tsukki, where you going?", Yamaguchi asked me,
"I wanna check Y/N's match. I heard it just started.",
"Can I come? I wanna see how Niiyama play.",
Eventually Hinata, Kageyama and Yachi heard our conversation,
"I want to come too!", Hinata said with a smile on his face,
"I heard that Y/N's one of the country's best blockers. I wanna know if that's true.", Kageyama said,
"I'll come just incase a commotion starts.", Yachi voluteered,
"Fine. Lets go, we might not get a good view of the match if we don't leave now.", I said blandly,
I walked away from the five and they followed. While walking I saw a notification on my phone which was sent before our match started,

We arrived at the court where their match is being held. It seems like she's saying the truth during our conversation last night. Niiyama is already at three points and Fukurodani is still at zero. I saw Y/N on court. She just entered the court. Wait I thought she's a regular. Oh I forgot, she's in a bad mood today so she's on bench.
Y/N seems to be more tired than being cheerful because yesterday she was just like a ray of sunshine. I think I have to ask her something about that later.
When the enemy's team was about to spike she jumped up late but when she jumped up, she blocked the ball completely. Her blocks seem to be powerful, she might block one of the top three spikers in the country.
After having their set point, their team went on timeout.
Y/N's POV
We went on timeout and coach requested something to me.
"Y/N, can you toss even just one time. We need it. Just once.", she requested me,
"Coach, you know I get a deep cut on my fingers when I toss.", I complained,
"I know but you gotta try.",
"Fine, I'll toss.", I got annoyed when she forced me to do things I don't want. Well only Kira mentioned that I feel like my mood went down more.
"Y/N, I know you can do it. Just don't overthink. That's always that I see when you do tosses. Just think about what will happen if you score a point with your toss.", Kira encouraged,
"Really, I overthink? I'll try then. Afterall, you're my favorite senpai. I want to make your last year in Niiyama High memorable because of me.", I said nearly tearing up,
"Oi Y/N, that's too early to say your goodbye. It's not like I'm graduating yet. I still have three months.",
"Yeah, yeah. I'll do it.", I said while smiling,
"Well, its about time to go back court. Now, go get that point for the team.", she encouraged me,
"I'm on it."
I went up to the court and Isabelle started to serve. After the enemy's team returned the ball to our side, May recieved the ball and brought it to the front. It seems like we're doing a synchronized attack, why did no one reminded this to me. I tossed the ball to Kanoka's hand and suddenly it got in.
My soul felt like its gonna explode out of me. Kira was tearing up when she saw me. She was shocked that I tossed the ball clean to Kanoka's hand and the right position. Even Kanoka was shocked with the toss. She went near me and hugged me, saying,
"Y/N, that toss was good. Better than Lillie's toss. Who thought you?",
"The one and only Kira-san.",
"Damn, I should ask her some advice from her.", May butted in our conversation,
The announcer said something during our moment,
"CONGRATULATIONS NIIYAMA HIGH! AND IN THE FIRST TIME IN VOLLEYBALL HISTORY, Y/N L/N DID A PROPER SET."
Tsukishima's POV
Wait, they record those kind of things? Wow, didn't know.
"Wait, that's her first proper toss, Annie-san?", Kageyama asked,
"Yup. She mostly get a deep cut on one of her fingers so she doesn't use it at all.",
She seems tearing up. Wait not just her, its the whole volleyball team. Wow, it seems they're very supportive to her.
Y/N's POV
After our game, I dressed up in casual wear and texted Tsukishima to meet me at the entrance. I walked to the exit and saw Tsukishima there.
"Ready to go, Tsukishima?", I asked,
"Yup.",
"Then lets go. I'll bring you to the Sky Tree then.",
And we walked away.
