Of the various tasks of the day, breakfast was the simplest meal.
Most of the food was pre-made, so it was enough to set the main table with rusks, jam, cereals and more.
The critical moment, however, came at lunchtime, where they had to do everything themselves.

"What? No, "Naomi spoke crossing her arms and throwing fiery glances at the three boys.
"I do not work!
Otherwise my nails will be damaged! "

"Naomi, you just have to set the tables!" Damien fed her.

The girl snorted as the others rolled their eyes, realizing that they should do that too.

"What will you cook today Chef Irene?" Luka asked grabbing a spoon and putting it in front of the girl's mouth as if it were a microphone.

"Pasta with tuna, pesto or white, with cold cuts and fruit!"

"Wow, a Master Chef menu!" the boy commented.
"And tell me, to what do we owe this magnificent choice?"

"The fact that I can't cook anything else!" she raised her hands in exultation.
They both burst out laughing, but then went back to work.

It wasn't as bad as they had imagined, but on the contrary, everything went smoothly.
In the end, her nability to cook was not so bad.

"By the way, how do I tell my parents at the academy?" Irene asked as she slumped in the pale wooden chair of table seventeen in room three.

"You can tell them everything or there is a fake school website on the internet, where it's represented as a scientific institute" Luka told her.
Once lunch was over, after having cleaned up and put everything back in order, the boys had taken a moment to sit at the tables.

"Pff scientific, I have four in almost all subjects, it would be impossible for me to enter such a school!
They will never fall for it. "

"Instead of going in, why don't we let the school send you an invitation letter?
Maybe to bring out your hidden potential "Luka tried to advise her.

"That wouldn't be bad," Damien nodded.

"And you say it can work?" Irene asked hesitantly.

"If it doesn't work, we'll have them speak to the principal directly," Naomi spoke up.
"New students are always welcome, I'm sure he'll be happy to testify on your behalf," the girl added.

"Then perfect!" Irene smiled and then glanced at the room clock.

"My parents should be back shortly, better if I start preparing the horses for the afternoon walk."
"Okay, then we'll organize everything" Luka greeted her.
"And remember this evening!" he reminded her as she left the room.

"Count on it!" she raised her hand to greet them, before disappearing outside and heading towards the enclosures, where the customers were gathering to go for a walk.

"Welcome back brother" raised a hand in greeting Irene, as she returned from the afternoon walk.It was stiflingly hot and he had sweated seven shirts on that outing, as if she had run a marathon.

"Well I see I didn't miss anything," he greeted back, getting out of the car that his father had just parked.
"If you don't die, I'll give you a souvenir later."

"I'll try!" she promised.

"Come on Diego, I can't carry everything by myself," the father spoke as he grabbed the largest suitcase, lifting it to take it out of the trunk.
"You know dad, if you lift this part here ..." Diego explained approaching and grabbing the plastic bar right above the suitcase
"... Wheels will pop up and it will become a trolley!"

"Look, I knew it," the father lied with a not too happy snort.

"Yeah sure, but you know how I am, I like to repeat the things I know" he joked as he grabbed the hand luggage as well.
"I have some souvenirs for you too, you know?"

"Oh great!
Did you get that matched set I asked for? "Mom jumped up enthusiastically.

"Yes exactly, I managed to find it on sale" nodded the son.
During his trip, while he was wandering in the various markets with a video call, his mother had spotted a splendid set of decorated plates behind her and immediately fell in love with it.

"Good very good!
I made a donut all for you, just what you like so much, only your father and your sister are almost done "sighed the woman entering the house.

"I just need a slice, don't worry," he chuckled.
He was finally back, he had missed this familiar atmosphere.
The trip had been good, but nowhere was like home.
"I'm going to unpack, as soon as I'm finished I'll bring you your presents," he promised them before taking both bags and climbing the stairs upstairs.
After fixing everything, Diego got out again and this time no one was missing.

Irene was lying on the sofa complaining about a client who had started a talkative talk for the whole walk.
"Come on, get up a little moral "said her brother, passing by her and handing him a package.

"Is it really for me?
I thought you were kidding me when you told me you brought some souvenirs" Irene said, grabbing the gift wrapped in Christmas paper.
"Did you recycle the paper by accident?"

"I'm not that bad as a brother and yes, my roommates only had that, but I think you'll like what's inside,
" he nodded.

"Ok now I'm curious, can I open it?" Irene asked as she tore off the wrapping paper.

"You're already doing it, but please go ahead" he replied.

Wrapped in the paper was a pink box and inside it was a necklace, a beautiful necklace with a black chain and as a pendant there was a skull of a raven with stones set in the protuberant eyes.On the right was a yellow crystal, while on the left a blue one and both seemed to glow with their own light.

"Oh my god Diego, but it's beautiful!" Irene exclaimed in surprise as she put it around her neck.

"It's black gold, along with the sun and moon stone, I think it's perfectly suited to someone like you."

"Black gold?!You will have spent a fortune! "

"Not much," he admitted.
" Then?
Am I or am I not the best brother in the world? "

"Yes, you are the best" she admitted leaning forward to hug him.
After giving the various gifts Irene and Diego had decided to go up to the room to be able to talk undisturbed, without parents, on various topics.
Irene trusted him blindly, but her brother didn't even know about Sioc and should never have found out.

"Why are you dressing up?" Diego asked as soon as he saw Irene go towards the wardrobe.

"I'm going out with friends, but Mum and Dad don't have to know" she replied as she put on her black leather boots.

"And who are these friends?"

"None of your business" she retorted.
"You've been overseas for two years, don't start protective brother right now."

"Can I at least know where you are going?" Diego asked with a sigh.

"No," she replied.

"All right" he gave up.
"Try not to get in trouble."

"It won't happen" Irene looked up.

"Good night, then" her brother smiled at her, before getting up and going to the room.

"Night" she greeted too, then opened the window and dropped down.
