Heart aches // Ch.9

It's been a couple weeks since Octavio's kiss with Loba. He couldn't bring himself to tell anyone, especially Natalie, ever since they've gotten closer as friends. She even gave him a new nickname. He couldn't bare to ruin what they had over some stupid kiss. But he knew that she needed to know; one way or another.

"Octy!" Natalie shouts from across the hallway waving her arm from side to side trying to get Octavio's attention. Stopping midway when she noticed that Octavio was lost in his train of thought that he didn't even see her coming toward him. "Hello,anyone home?" she says smiling at him as he snapped back into reality. "Lo siento, I didn't see you there." he nervously laughs and Natalie grows suspicious;narrowing her eyes at him.

"You okay Octy? You've been acting weird lately." Natalie pleaded, caressing his cheek lightly. Octavio's heart starts to ache as he presses the palm of his hand onto Natalie's. He couldn't get enough of her warm touch, his eyes were filled with the dread of that day. His mind was all over the place, he didn't know what to think anymore.

"Tell her."

"Natalie I need to tell you someth-" he stops at the sudden buzz from his phone, he pulls out his phone and sees that it was a text from Ajay. It read:

"Meet me at the garden. We need to talk and NOW."

Octavio sighs and sucks his teeth at the sudden text. Natalie looks at him with confusion with her pointer finger placed on her lip. "Did you want to tell me something?" Octavio looks down at Natalie with a smile so gentle yet so painful at the thought of what will happen when he tells her.

Will she see him differently? Will she still want to be friends?

Negative thoughts fill his mind as he plays with Natalie's short hair. "I'll tell you later, something just came up." he says lowly, looking at Natalie one more time before taking off. Her face was red and her heart was racing. She just couldn't get Octavio out of her mind. Natalie looks down at the hand she touched Octavio's cheek with, her mind going to places she didn't want it to. Her eyes widen when she starts having those explicit thoughts of Octavio again. She pats her cheeks trying to snap herself out of it. She's been having a lot of those thoughts recently, she hadn't known why but she wanted them to come to end. She takes one deep breath, looking out the window; watching Octavio walk over to the garden,

"Oh,Octy..."

"¿Que paso? The text you seemed urgent Che. Something wrong?" Octavio asks looking at Ajay pace around back and forth. "What in da hell were you thinkin' Tavi?" Ajay shouts, raising her hand at him, only to put it down soon after." He looks at her with pure confusion, trying to figure out what she was talking about. Since she seemed so fazed by it enough made her to want to slap him. "What are you talking about Che?"

Ajay pulls out her phone and handing it to him. Taking a deep breath to calm herself. "Explain this." she firmly says, impatiently tapping her foot. It only took one glance as his stomach started to churn. The feeling of shame and disgust in himself slowly start to tickle back into his mind. This was the one thing he didn't want to see today or even any other day really.

Someone took a picture of Loba and Octavio their lips intertwined with each other. But what really made him sick was that he let his feelings for Natalie take control, causing him to do this. He wasn't going to forgive himself...he couldn't, not after all this. He tries to suppress his urge to vomit but it only grows stronger as he lets himself be swallowed by his thoughts.

How is he gonna tell Natalie?

The anxiety of telling Natalie was his breaking point as he hunched over and hurled all over the grass until there was nothing else to regurgitate. Ajay freaks out at the sudden action grabbing his arm and wrapping it around her. "We need to take yuh to the nurse ASAP!" she says looking over at Octavio holding his stomach with his free arm, staring down at the ground as they both slowly started walked toward the building.

Ajay opens the infirmary door making her way inside with Octavio still wrapped around her. She sets him on the bed closest to them before looking around to see if the nurse was in today. "Looks like the nurse isn't here right now Tavi."
Octavio groans at that, laying on his side facing away from her. "No te preocupes Che, i'll be fine here alone. You don't have to stay with me."

She rolls her eyes looking around in the cabinets and cupboards for some medicine to help ease the nausea within him. "I'm stayin' and ain't nothin' you can say to stop me."

"Whatever Che." he groans before a big "Aha!" came from Ajay's mouth seconds later. "I finally found somethin' that'll help ya feel a bit better." turning around shaking the green pill bottle from behind him. She quickly fills up a glass of water and heads over to Octavio, handing him a single pill and the water she had just filled. "Take this, you'll feel better in no time." she says and Octavio complied, quickly popping the pill in his mouth and chugging the glass of water to get it down.

"So tell me Tavi, why did you kiss Loba? I thought you had feelings for Natalie."

Octavio hesitates at the sudden question and answers.

"I am in love with her, It's just...my mind was all messed up that day, when Loba decided to kiss me, my feelings for Nat came through and so I kissed her back thinking she was Natalie. I'm just scared that she'll hate me when she finally hears about this...I just can't bare losing her Che."

Ajay looks down at Octavio and notices that his eyes were watery, she stayed silent as she wrapped her arms around him into an embrace him; stroking his green hair and repeatedly telling him that it was going to be okay as he silently cried against her stomach.

Natalie wandered around the school hallway, drinking out of her juice box and humming. She stops when she sees a familiar physique coming toward her from the other side of the hallway. "I'm guessing you're Natalie." the girl says, Natalie stood there quiet as she knew exactly who this girl was. "Seems we haven't had a formal introduction, my name is Loba Andrade and i'm the girl who Octavio is in love with." she said with a slight giggle. Natalie looks at her, her eyes widen a little. "Oh? Don't believe me? Don't worry, I had something prepared for you if something like this were to happen."

Loba reached into her bag pulling out a yellow folder titled "Natalie's special gift." Natalie seems hesitant but she ended up opening the folder. Her heart dropped when she saw the dozens of photos of her and Octavio, locking lips from the time they went to karaoke. She falls to her knees, the pain in her heart was like no other as she cried. Loba looks down at her in disgust and kicks her to the side. "Don't you have any manners? You're going to get your dirty tears all over my shoes." she shouts and Natalie stayed silent, tears continually falling down as she ignored the pain in her stomach. "You're pathetic Natalie. People like you shouldn't even be near Octavio." Loba says before she walked away, leaving Natalie helpless and in tears on the cold hard floor.
