By the time Shigaraki arrived back at the base, he found the main area filled with other members. It left a growing irritation seeing the faces that he held no trust for. Izuku was gentle to him, leaving a conflict still present in his mind. He had uttered such cruel words without giving the teen a choice. Part of him wanted to believe it was to protect the green haired male, but his heart told a whole new tale. He would never admit it, but he was scared. Not of the kid, but of the emotions that come with the territory. There never was room for love in his heart... But meeting his fated pair stirred those thoughts to the surface, corrupting them and tearing at them.

"Young master? Where have you been?" Kurogiri's voice stirred Shigaraki from his thoughts as he lowered his gaze to the floor. There was blood along his clothing, something Kurogiri hadn't missed. HE easily stepped around the bar before approaching. "You're injured!"

"I'm fine. I promise." Kurogiri remained silent before nodding slightly. He gave a soft sigh before his hand gently pressed to Shigaraki's head. The feeling brought back memories. Images of Izuku flashed across Shigaraki's mind, bringing his heart to a slow rhythm.

"I will assume the blood is someone else's. Now, mind telling me why it took so long to return?"

"It's nothing important. I dealt with the issue..." His words faltered as his hand pressed to his chest, grasping at the cloth. He couldn't believe his own words. The issue was not dealt with. His heart ached and he hated the feeling.

"Let's head to the back and talk, okay?" Shigaraki nodded as he followed Kurogiri, ignoring the occasional glances from the batch of villains that had recently joined. Most were weak, but that was the main reasons they were merely pawns.

Both stopped further down the hallway before entering one of the rooms, Kurogiri closing the door before locking it. Shigaraki moved slowly toward the bed, his body flopping onto it. His eyes were narrowed, sorrow cresting his expression. The sight brought worry to Shigaraki's companion.

"So, mind explaining what happened?"

"I don't feel it is important Kurogiri..." The statement was met with silence as the tall figure leaned on the door.

"You either explain, or we stay here for how ever long it takes." Shigaraki scowled. One thing he had learned was that Kurogiri never lied. If he claimed he would block the path, that was exactly what he would do.

"I met someone today. They healed my wounds, hence why I said I was perfectly fine..."

"Who was this person?" There was a lingering silence before Shigaraki sighed.

"A student from U.A... Well, someone trying to get into U.A." Shigaraki stopped himself from speaking for a moment before finally adding the last detail. He wanted clarification on what to do. What was the correct decision? "He also is connected to me by the string of fate. He's my fated partner."

Kurogiri was at a loss for words. It wasn't impossible, but the odds were low. A hero and villain paired by fate was a cruel joke. That being said, even he could see that something formed between Shigaraki and the other person. The stranger had saved Shigaraki, which was not normal.

"Does he know about you being a villain?" Shigaraki met Kurogiri's gaze before nodding.

"I told him before walking off. He seemed just as conflicted..."

"If he knows, let fate take course. Carry on your plans and if he decides to follow through and seek you out, allow him. I know you have never had love or compassion, so maybe this is fate's gift to you. Either way, let the boy make the decision."

"No one will date a villain Kurogiri!" There was a deep inhale before the sound of the clicking drew Shigaraki's gaze.

"If there is one thing I know, it is that fate will reward those that deserve it. It always comes down to choices, does it not? If he chooses you, he should know the price he is paying. If he turns away, the cost will become known to him. You two are connected, so trust in your heart." Kurogiri let out a soft chuckle, surprising Shigaraki. "Another thing young master."

"What is it?"

"If anyone deserves happiness, it is you. If he seeks you out, don't push him away. No matter how scary the emotions can be, allow them." For once Shigaraki felt a weight lift off of him. Those words were able to light a small flame. Even a little hope was better than nothing. There was a lingering feeling of regret, but his heart felt warm for once. A piece of him hoped that Izuku would appear again in search of him. He was curious about positive emotions. About love. Joy. All of it. He couldn't help but feel a desire to attain such knowledge. The thought brought a smile as he remembered the journals Izuku had kept on his person that day. It made him wonder if the current emotions he felt were similar to Izuku.

Shigaraki remained seated as he watched his finger, the red string dimming slightly. Distance made the thread vanish, hidden from prying eyes. Only those who have found their partner can see others. The slight glow of the string was comforting, leaving a growing feeling of hope bubbling to the surface. In his heart he could feel his emotions, along with Izuku's. There was still the lingering sadness, but there was something else. Something that forced Shigaraki's heart to beat rapidly. His body felt warm as he allowed the emotions to wash over him.

'So, this is kindness... Love... It truly is warming.'
