Ike buttoned up her white shirt up to her neck and quickly knotted her tie before folding her collar on it. She looked at herself of the mirror before walking towards the table and slinging her backpack over her back and picking her jacket from the hanger.

The new session started today and unlike other students; Ike was the least excited. She walked out of her room as she slipped her phone into her school bag and walked down the staircase.

She quickly drained the cup of tea on the dining table and grabbed the slices of bread as she walked out of the house. The driver was already waiting and Ike quickly got into the car.

She leaned her back against the seat as the driver drove through the streets of Lagos. As it was resumption day; the roads were congested. Even on days when the students and pupils were on holidays; the roads still got congested not to talk of when schools were resuming.

Ike raised an eyebrow as soon as she realized that the school had changed the way they wrote the name of the school. School buses drove in and out of the school and Ike got down from the car as she adjusted her school bag behind her.

She could see and read the excitement of the students as they walked into the school. The purple jackets and skirts seemed to shine more early in the morning.

De Royals College was one of the best colleges in Lagos. Of course someone from the royal family owned the school hence the name and the uniform.

The school was built like a palace with every building as a storey building. The school rules and regulations were strict but the students always violated it.

Ike walked towards her new block with steady steps. She gave small smiles to some of her classmates that she met on the way. The Senior Block was separated from the Junior a block with a fence and a gate.

Ike rolled her eyes upon seeing the familiar SENIOR BLOCK engraved on the wall. She approached the gates and she could see the newly chosen prefects already performing their duties at the gate.

"Wear your jacket" one of them said to her and Ike realized that she still hadn't worn her jacket.

She quickly removed her school bag while wearing her jacket. Ike climbed the steps till she arrived at her new class.

Someone jumped on her as soon as she walked into the class and Ike laughed the moment her nose got a wiff of the person's perfume.

"Chidima, you'll strangle me with your perfume" Ike said as the latter released her revealing a light skinned girl with big eyes.

Her uniform fitted her perfectly as it hugged her body everywhere. Her purple jacket was unbuttoned exposing the immaculate white shirt underneath.

"I missed you" Chidima cooed as Ike laughed and nodded.

"I know" Ike replied as she looked around the noisy class.

"Where are we seating down?" Ike asked as Chidima pointed to three seats beside the window.

"Yours is the last one beside the wall since you catch cold easily" Chidima replied as she folded her arms.

"You need to pay me for that seat. I almost got in a fight with Mola because of your spot" Chidima said as Ike laughed and walked towards her new seat and cleaned it.

"What do you want?" Ike asked as she sat down and placed her bag behind her.

"I just started Soul Land. It has over 130 episodes, I want you to help me download 20 episodes" Chidima replied as Ike laughed again.

"Its on my laptop so bring your flash and collect everything" Ike said as Chidima engulfed her in another hug again.

"I love you" Chidima said as Ike chuckled.

"Where's Gloria?" Ike asked as Chidima sat down.

"Did you forget she's the Class President for this session. She's trying to get the timetable and our teachers for this term" Chidima replied as Ike nodded.

"I forgot" Ike said.

"So how was your holiday? Hope you had fun?" Chidima asked and Ike nodded.

"Yeah. What about you? How was the trip to Miami?" Ike asked.

"Oh my! It was so interesting" Chidima started as Ike folded her arms and leaned on the wall to listen.

Chidima Okoye, Ike's first friend in De Royals College. After they both got lost on their first days while looking for their classrooms they had both easily clicked as friends and their friendship even continued years after.

Chidima was a sweetheart and a very nice person. Although born with a silver spoon, she never used it to bully others besides for one to be able to attend DRC, you needed to be born with a silver spoon.

As friendly and nice Chidima was; she had a flaw. Talking. Chidima could talk from now till Jesus second coming without stopping for a moment. It was more like a talent.

To keep Chidima busy, Ike allowed her to talk for as long as she wanted because when she wasn't talking about herself; she wanted to know about other people. And as Gloria wasn't around, Chida would definitely want to know how her holiday went and Ike wasn't ready to explain anything.

"You should visit Miami sometimes. It has the best views and all. So many beautiful people live there as well. I attended my cousin's high school for a day and you need to see how they were all looking at me. As if I was an alien" Chidima said as she laughed.

"I made few friends and took a few pictures too" Chidima added as she brought out her phone and Ike didn't need anyone to tell her that it was the latest iPhone.

"I got this in Miami" Chidima said as she flashed the phone in front of Ike who nodded.

"Its a nice phone" Ike replied as she yawned and looked around as she prayed for Gloria to come back to the class quickly.

Gloria was the antidote to make Chidima stop talking.

CHIDIMA WAS INSPIRED BY ONE OF MY FRIENDS AND ME AS WELL. WE ALL HAVE THAT FRIEND THAT LIKES TALKING, I TALK TOO BUT LETS SAY WITH MY FRIENDS.

AND LIKE I SAID, FROM NEXT WEEK, I'LL BE MAKING MASS UPDATES,  LIKE FIVE CHAPTERS AT A TIME. SO JUST ANTICIPATE AND GET YOUR HANKIES READY, TEARS GONNA FALL.
