Ch. 7

It's been a couple days now since me and Matt hung out and we haven't talked since, it's weird to say but I miss him. I was getting ready to meet Hailey at Starbucks. I decided on just wearing leggings with my VS Pink sweater. I grabbed my car keys and left my house making sure to lock it on my way out.

A couple minutes later I pulled up to Starbucks and seen that Hailey was already there. I walked inside and went to grab a coffee frappuccino and a birthday cake pop before walking over and greeting her.

"Hello pretty" I greeted her.

"Hi, I miss my best friend I'm so glad we can hang out"

"Sleep over tonight?"

"Girls night" she cheered. We both laughed and I started eating my cake pop. Hailey was just staring at her phone and I was confused.

"Have you seen Selena's post on Instagram?" She asked.

"No, I don't like her and you don't either so why are you following her"

"Well you might want to see this" she said before shoving her phone in my face.

I was shocked. I was angry. I was upset. Words couldn't describe how I felt. Selena posted a picture of her sitting on Matts lap kissing his cheek. Is this why he's been ignoring me? Was I not good enough? Am I not pretty enough?

"Janessa, don't let this get to you. I'm sorry I showed you but you deserved to know. This is why I was unsure about you guys going out" Hailey sighed.

"Don't worry about it, I'm fine. It doesn't bother me."

"Okay, good." Little does she know it does bother me, it bothers me a lot.

"I know I said we could hang out tonight but how about we go to a party instead? Let's get your mind off things."

"You're right, Hailey. Let's get fucked up." I smirked.

It's been a few hours now since I found out about Selena and Matt. I'm only going to this party because I know he's going to be there. I started curling my hair while Hailey picked out my outfit. We decided on black leather leggings, a white crop top, and red pumps. Hailey was going to wear a tight black dress that hugged all her curves and topped it off with nude pumps. I applied some mascara, eyeliner, and some bright red lip stick. 10 minutes later we were both ready and decided to head out. It took us 15 minutes to get to the party.

"I know you're only going
because Matts going to be there" I sighed. Was it really that noticeable?

We finally pulled up to the party and got out of the car, I met Hailey on the other side. We walked in together and got greeted at the door by some kid, I think his name was Carter?

"Hello ladies, welcome to the party" he smiled.

"Thanks Carter" Hailey smiled. So his name was Carter.

We walked in the house and the first thing Hailey did was drag me to the bar. She asked the bartender for 4 shots.

"Why 4?" I yelled over the loud music.

"2 for each! Duh, silly" she laughed.

"Here you go ladies" he handed us our shots. Before I knew it I felt the burning sensation of Vodka go down my throat.

"Woah, slow down babygirl" A raspy voice said. I whipped around and seen who it was. I rolled my eyes before walking away.

"Hey! Don't walk away from me" he tugged on my wrist.

"Leave me alone! Can't you see I'm trying to get away from you?!"

"Why are you trying to get away from me? We had such a fun night the other night and now you don't want to talk to me?! What's up with that?!" He yelled over the loud music.

"I don't know, ask Selena!" I yelled before walking away to kitchen. He's stupid if he thinks I'm going to talk to him. I wanted to get my mind off things so I grabbed a beer and gulped it down before I made my way to the dance floor. I don't care anymore, I want to forget about him. I started swaying my hips to the music before I felt a pair of hands wrap around my waist. I didnt care who it was I just wanted to have fun. I wrapped my arms around the strangers neck before I started circling my hips and swaying them back and forth. I heard the stranger groan so I know I was doing it right. I was having fun before someone picked me up and threw me over their shoulder and started walking upstairs.

"Put me down! I was having fun!" The person ignored me.

"Are you deaf?!? PUT ME DOWN!" I yelled before I started hitting them.

Whoever had taken me upstairs put me down.

"WHAT THE F-"

"JANESSA, SHUT UP!"the familiar voice yelled.

"Matthew?! What the hell is your problem?! I was having fun down there before you decided to ruin it!"

"I'm sorry that I was trying to protect you!" He rolled his eyes. I scoffed.

"I don't need protecting. I'm fine, just leave me alone can't you see I don't want to talk to you."

"What did I even do?"

"You're clueless"

"Clearly" he said sarcastically.

"You and Selena."

"What about us? Nothing's going on between us!"

"So after our little date you ignore me so you can hang out with Selena and you say nothing's going on between you two?! You're dumb if you think I believe you."

"I'm sorry Janessa I never meant to hurt you, I ignored you because I was scared."

"Scared of what? There's nothing to be scared of." I said confused.

"Scared of losing you."
