After breakfast, I arrange the pictures I took yesterday using my new Polaroid. It worked like a charm, I never got tired of taking pictures of my family while they were having fun in the snow. I smile as I arrange them in the Christmas Tree. Our Christmas Tree doesn't have a lot of decorations and ornaments so it doesn't look crowded, it looks very sublime. My favourite photo I took is Mom and Dad skating on ice, it's so romantic and thankfully I took a picture in my Polaroid.
I continue hanging the pictures I captured perfectly yesterday when I heard singing outside the house. It's a bunch of people doing carolling, this is my favourite part of Christmas where every person goes carolling. It's nice to hear persons sing in front of your house. My family went outside and saw children with their violins singing The First Noel.
The first Noel the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay:
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the east beyond them far
And to the earth, it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
And by the light of that same star
Three Wise men came from country far
To seek for a King was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
This star drew nigh to the northwest
O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both stops and stay
Right o'er the place where Jesus lay
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
We clapped as they finished singing. Those voices were angelic, even better than mine who used to sing in a church choir. Dad gives them each a small brown envelope and I'm guessing that it is money inside. My father is never greedy when it comes to giving, he always says that it is not necessary to give them gifts since we don't know what they like, instead, we can give them money to let them buy whatever they want. Well, he has a point though but I still think that giving material gifts are the best.
"You have such wonderful voices," I complimented. "Merry Christmas!"
"Merry Christmas!" They waved goodbye as we went back inside.
My father noticed the pictures on the Christmas Tree and looks at it one by one. "That's a good place to put the pictures to took of us," I look behind me and saw my dad with his hands in his waist.
I took the picture with my parents skating and show it to dad. "I like this picture, you know. It's nice, thankfully I took a picture of it at the right moment."
Dad laughs and pulls me into a hug with a kiss on the forehead. "Yeah, that's a pretty good picture you took. You have such a talent, Kit. You are more than a CEO."
It doesn't mean that I am a CEO I can't do anything. Look at my history before, I joined a school choir, I was part of a journalism competition, I was best in Science and I won a lot of trophies in joining Scientific Competitions but I am not a fan of Math. "You know that I was not only born to work in the office. I was also born to do a lot of kinds of stuff, just like painting, singing, photography."
"And of course being short-tempered." No need to look around, it's my brother speaking. Jeez, it's Christmas and you want to get into my nerves, gosh, who are you and why are you even my brother. "You know I have a lot of talents too, father. Just like cooking, playing sports--."
"And being annoying!" I snapped and went back into my business with the Christmas Tree
Yeah, I know it's Christmas and it's not time to be mad but I need to snap back since I am mad. And honestly, that's one of your talents, you're seriously annoying and my talents don't include being "short-tempered", if not for you who is getting into my nerves, then, I wouldn't be mad.
"Every person has his or her talent given by God and you have to be thankful to Him and make sure to use it wisely. That includes, of course being annoying and being short-tempered," My dad just said something he doesn't wanna say in front of my face, but he's my father so there's nothing I gotta do with it. I'm pissed!
Caesar laughs as if dad was not referring to him while I hung the last photo in the Christmas Tree. There, that's perfect. Exquisite! Now, the design of the Christmas Tree is perfect. I was supposed to turn around when my Grandma Tina gave me a scare from behind. Gosh, this is why I hate giving scares and being scared I get traumatized and I don't want other people to get traumatized as well.
"What's the reason for you to do that?" I questioned.
"Those are pretty good pictures, Catherine. You know what, I think you are a better photographer than a CEO." She said dodging my question and I furrowed my eyebrows, confused.
I'm a better photographer than a CEO? Well, I find that as a contradiction to my profession in business and no, I am not a better photographer then a CEO. I was born to reign in the office not in the studio. I just love capturing the moment for memories and the credits go to Photo Journalism. Although, I love Feature Writing best.
"That's a good way to dodge my question, grandma." She laughs and I sit down on the couch, turning the television on and open Netflix, there is a new episode of Virgin River and I can't wait to watch it. I just love this series ever since I knew it.
"Virgin River," Caesar sits on the chair couch putting two Hot Chocolates on the table. "You have an amazing obsession with that TV series."
"Is that a problem?" I ask and he shook his head. "It's wonderful, sister."
I took a sip of the Hot Chocolate he gave me and lie back on the couch. Is it just I or I'm kinds excited for Christmas, this is the first time that I'm excited for Christmas. I mean, there are three days left before Christmas and I don't know the hell why I'm excited. I smile to myself and focus my eyes on the television.
