An understatement.

"Mr Ashton, there is someone at reception asking to speak with you. Says it's urgent." Jeongguk looked at his assistant, a sweet Irish girl named Ivy and looked at her in confusion, then looked back at his computer.

"I have no appointments at the moment." He stated. "I know sir. I requested that he make one, but he told me to tell you it was urgent. He is an investigator." Jeongguk immediately looked up.

"Send him in immediately. Cancel everyday I have this afternoon." Ivy was taken aback by his tone. "Now Miss Ivy." She scurried out of the room, dropping her pen as she hurried towards the elevator.

"Carter. Anything. Please. Tell me you have something." Jeongguk pleaded, tapping a pen furiously on the glass table.

A year had gone by already.

"We found them." Jeongguk froze and slowly turned his full gaze at the man.

"Repeat that." He said quietly. "We found them sir. On the outskirts of South Korea. You said to check there sir and we alerted the Korean police. We found them." Jeongguk's heart was beating too fast for his liking.

"When can I-" He was stopped as a file was slid over his desk towards him. He opened it and pulled out freshly applied passports and identification.

"They are coming here. The money you sent the Korean police was more than enough to get them over here with a fresh start. Just like you ordered." Jeongguk stood up and stared at the picture of Jimin. He looked thin, but otherwise healthy with clean clothes.

His breath hitched when he looked at her. She had her hair cut properly, leaving a soft fringe surrounding her face. Her skin was healthier and her eyes weren't as tired looking. She looked healthy and Jeongguk couldn't be more thankful that they were both alright.

"They were stayed with a Japanese family in Korea. They migrated from Japan two years ago. Took them in and kept them safe." Jeongguk let out a cry of relief. They we rent in prison and they were safe.

"Your mother tried, believe me. But since you had gone willingly with them and are a legal adult. In Korea they dropped charges." Jeongguk smiled widely.

His reasons for living were coming back to him.

Jeongguk fretted immensely. The house was cleaned from top to bottom, not a single piece of dust was to remain. He had the maid stock up the food, and he himself had a personal project of his own to complete.

Luckily his co-partner, a kind and extremely intelligent man named Namjoon, was running the company while he was absent. He sent all the meetings on video, Jeongguk watching them while whining at a maid to get peonies.

"Gifts. I need that..." Jeongguk mumbled on the last day before their return and so he immediately went shopping.

He spent far longer than he usually would at the mall but he wanted the gifts to be perfect. The workers wrapped them for him, tying them in the nearest silver bows with shimmering black wrapping paper.

To say he was nervous was an understatement.

Everything was different. He himself was different. He was afraid. He was afraid that the friendship was gone. That her love for Jeongguk was gone.

Jeongguk loved her. He knew he did the moment he made love to her.

He just didn't tell her in time.

He wasn't going to miss it again.
