I fall and stumble on to the ground, winded and bruised already.
'h how did you...'
'all those who are smart would have worked out that they have an escape route in their room by now- seriously did anything my mum tell you actually stick in there?' he points to my head. Seriously? I roll my eyes.
'Some people aren't looking for a way out' I say. Which is not true. All I ever was doing as a child was looking for an escape. Luckily I wasn't a bright child back then because if I was, I wouldn't have survived my escape. A weak child like I was wouldn't last a day in that world.
'What if you were offered a way out?' I think for a moment. Lugh would have to come too of course and how would we even get out? There are thousands of guards, no one has ever escaped and if we were caught I would expect the worst. Torture. Since we are needed for the king instead of death we get something even worse.
'I would probably decline because there is no way out of this place.' his face contorts in confusion.
'What if I told you there was a way out. Would you believe me?'
'Maybe' I say
'Only if Lugh comes too' I add. His eyes turn grey with jealousy. Why would he care?
For some reason I trust Soren with my life and his familiarity makes me think there is more to him than what is expected.
