I rapidly tapped my pencil on my desk as my Pre-Calc teacher continued going on and on about the how important the fundamentals are. I couldn't wait to get out of this class, I felt like I was being suffocated by a vortex of boredom. I continued to stare outside the window as I thought back to what happened earlier in the hallway. I couldn't get over him. That was the first time my heart raced over someone like that. But his eyes seemed so different, something was hidden behind them...

I knew deep down that I shouldn't stress over it. He was just another guy and I most likely won't see him again. I've gone the entire year not seeing him so I probably won't see him again. But for some reason I couldn't shake it.

To make matters worse, every time I closed my eyes an image of him popped up. Because of his hoodie I only say parts of his face, but it was enough to make my heart run a marathon. His eyes glistened and radiated through me. I had never seen such a brilliant color before. It was like-

"Miss. Lemar, please pay attention to the lesson," Mr. Remmy commanded.

I snapped my head towards the board and gave a slight nod of an apology. He gave me one last glance as he turned on his heels and continued writing on the board. He was quite short, maybe no more than 5'3 and short gray hair with a bald spot on top. Mr. Remmy always talked about his wife, though he had no ring, and we have never seen a picture. Most of the students think he had one, but most likely lost her because of his bipolar personality. You never knew when he was going to snap in class.

As soon as the bell rang I packed up my stuff and headed towards the door.

"Just one second Miss Lemar, I need to speak with you for a moment." I slowly turned around and walked back into the classroom.

"Yes Mr. Remmy," I asked.

"I would like to talk to you about your future in this class. I have noticed you appear quite bored while I'm teaching," he explained.

I gulped and replied "I understand your concern, and I apologize for my misbehavior, I had a lot on my mind today."

"No its ok, it helped me prove my point that I think you need to be more challenged. I have gotten a student from one of the higher level classes to tutor you on what he is learning in AP Calculus."

I couldn't stop my jaw from dropping. It's true that I found this class easy but I never expected for him to care enough to notice how much I needed to move up.

"Thank you so much Mr.Remmy, I won't let you down," I responded.

"I know you won't," he smiled. He ripped a piece of paper out of his notebook and started scribbling down information and handed it too me.

"You are dismissed."

As I exited the classroom I read over the piece of paper he gave me.

Library, in the back of the study section @ 3:45

Name: Marcus

Time for my first session I suppose...

I walked into the library to be bombarded by students flooding out. It was the end of the day so everyone was ready to leave, plus it was a Friday and there's always a party. I pushed through to finally make it past the front desk in one piece. I glanced down the shelves as I walked deeper into the library. I felt awkward and out of place.

This was where my cousin and I would always go after school since it stayed open an extra 2 hours. I looked to my right to see a wooden table right near the wide window where warm rays of light shined in. I looked at the clock to see I had 5 minutes until my lesson so I walked over to the table and sat on the seat closest to the window.

My hands found its way to the top as I touched the smooth surface. This was exactly where we would sit every time we came. I looked under the table to see K&K engraved in it. A nostalgic smile appeared on my lips as I remembered when we scratched it on here.

I looked out the window to see two little girls skipping hand-and-hand down the street. They looked so happy and filled with joy. So carefree. So naive... I hope one day I could have that feeling again too. I got up from my seat and continued walking to the back of the library. When I reached the "Study Section" I saw a boy in the far left corner. He was reading a book that covered his face but I could tell from the way he had his legs stretched underneath the table that he was quite tall. I walked up to him and lightly tapped his desk.

"Excuse me, are you Marcus," I asked.

"Yep," he replied without putting his book down. I sat down in front of him and waited for his attention. After 5 minutes he still didn't do anything but read.

"I don't mean to be rude but can you please tell me when we're going to begin?"

silence

"Excuse me."

He refused to respond.

I glared at him as I reached over the table to push his book down from his face.

"Your suppose to make eye contact when someone is talking to you." When I raised my head I realized that he was extraordinarily handsome. He had slightly darker skin that was perfect. Soft colored looking lips and smooth cheek bones. But something was familiar. His eyes where hazel but had a hint of gray in the center. They glistened with a harsh glare. He was wearing black, square glasses that made him look very sophisticated. It was just like...it was on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't remember.

He raised an eyebrow at me and responded "Well I'm sorry but touching other people's property and starring is rude too."

I took a deep breath and started again. I wasn't going to let him get to me.

"Can we just get on with the lesson then?"

"I would but I lost interest."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "What do you mean lost interest?"

"As in I don't feel like tutoring you anymore. Sorry for wasting your time." He stood up with his book and started walking towards the exit.

"Wait," I called out to him. I rushed in his direction and grabbed his arm.

"Please, I need your help to move up classes. Please help me." I couldn't believe I was pleading, but honestly this was the only remotely good thing that's happened to me in a very long time.

He yawned, "I'll help you, but not today. To tired." Suddenly I felt a tug in my shoulder and found my bag missing from it. I snapped my head to see my grey and black bag being searched by my tutor's invading hands.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" How did he even do that? It was like a blur. Marcus pulled out my cellphone and shoved my book bag into my arms. He started typing something into my phone and then tossed it so it landed right on my bag.

"We'll meet next week but at my house. I'll text you my address later." He didn't even look back as he walked away.

I just stood their with awe. First the guy in the hallway, now my new tutor. What is going on with all of these attractive weirdos? And what did he mean text me? Then I realized. I fumbled as I grabbed me phone and scrolled through my contacts. Not to my surprise I found a new one that said "Marcus Caedo." Unbelievable. Totally unbelievable.

"Maybe I should tutor him in manners," I mumbled to myself as I walked out of the library.
