"Barriss what are you doing?" I asked.
"Packing my stuff Caleb, I have to go see Anakin." Barriss insisted.
"Why?"
"After what happened, I—I just get the feeling he needs me."
"What did happen?"
"I don't know. I don't know. I just fear that he has tapped into the dark side." She looked down.
"Can I come too?" This sudden twist in conversation caught her by surprise, but what followed was the sign of true friendship.
"Of course. What Anakin really needs right now are friends. So yes, it's a good idea for you to come."
(Barriss' POV)
The trip from Coruscant wasn't long, but it sure did feel like it since I was very eager to find my best friend. I of course did see Anakin when we were in the Geonosian arena, but I didn't even get a chance to talk to him, better yet get a good glimpse on his progress.
"So what happened on Geonosis?"
"A lot actually. We were in the Geonosian arena where there were a stupendous amount of battle droids. Way too many for the thousands of us. Luckily for me, Master Ti and Master Unduli were beside me the whole time, which enabled me to survive the battle."
I continued telling him the story while staring into his bright green eyes. That magnificent glow in his shining eyes would always bring me joy; joy that I would cherish every last moment of, joy that easily brings a smile to my face.
I brought him onto my lap where we could embrace each other gleefully. He was hesitant at first, but by the moment I had my arm wrapped around his back, he immediately fell into my touch.
The warmth and peace was far beyond any form of gratefulness I have ever felt. The feeling of being able to hold this boy makes me happy every single time. His young baby scent smelled like a small sweet sack of flowers, one that is still continuing to grow, and when he grows, he will become much more beautiful than the boy he already is.
Caleb slowly drifted off to sleep, as I continued clinging onto him with two long protective hands. At some point my left hand made its way up to his hair, where I gladly shuffled it. The satisfaction it gave me was the same as before, only this time, he didn't resist.
The navi computer beeped, waking him up and bringing me back to reality.
"Caleb, come on, time to wake up." I whispered. He groaned at the annoyance, but at least I already did what was necessary.
I hopped out of the ship before the auto pilot had even landed, and Caleb right after. I didn't know where Anakin would be, but I had a gut feeling he'd be with Padme.
After taking care of the ship, I took Caleb's hand and started to go look for our long lost friend.
My eyes weren't exactly helping but I'm glad that the force was still present.
The search had went on for an hour now, and I think I may have a lead. Of course, Caleb being there slowed me down a little bit, but I barely blamed the boy since the only planet he's ever been on was Coruscant. However, every attempt he had of communicating with strangers was cut short when I pulled him back.
"Let's go, it should be right around there." I pointed.
Caleb made the great leap and almost fell down as he galloped towards the large house.
To our luck, the door was opened and so Caleb immediately bursted in like a thief. I had to run over there to stop him from causing trouble. Hopefully he didn't do too much damage.
(Caleb's POV)
"Anakin? Anakin!" I called, running straight through the door. I didn't even slow down for anything as my hyperactive self took over my body.
I could already sense his presence, but what I was not prepared for was to bump into a tall figure at first entry.
"Sorry, sorry." I said, slowly getting up to see that I had bumped into an adult female who looked a few years older than Anakin.
"It's all right." She chuckled, "What's your name?"
Well that's quite a polite lady, I thought. Who knew people outside the Jedi Temple were so discipline too. From what I've heard, Jedi are supposed to be the most wise and polite people around because of our strict boundaries, but I guess I was wrong.
"Caleb, my name is Caleb Dume. It's good to meet you Miss..."
Boring? Interesting? Leave your comments down below, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I would say merry Christmas but IDK about that yet.
This may be a bit of a stretch but I promise that this story will reach an ending before 2021. I promise you. You trust me? Excellent.
It may be a bit rushed but I'd try to include as much detail as possible. I can pretty much say now that I am definitely going to upload at least one chapter per day to this story, as for my other stories, lets just say I'll think about it.
My main focus will be finishing this one cause I really wanna include some happy Christmas themed things at the end of the book. I know it's been a tough year but you've all done so well to stay strong. I congratulate you.
Keep up the good work and have a lovely Christmas.
