true kind of love

Spinel screamed and ran to connie not wasting anytime and began digging her out.

"Connie, its ok, your gonna be ok just dont move o-ok?!" spinel cried as she choked on her sobs and began breakdown

Spinel heard footsteps approaching quickly but payed no mind to them, focusing on digging her wife out.

"SPINEL I'M HERE, WHAT HAPP-" steven began but stopped as he saw connie laying motionles and her blood spilled everywhere

"....Spinel...What happened.." steven whispered as he swallowed a giant lump

"S-she came here to get me and s-she saved me" spinel chocked out as tears streamed down her face

Steven could feel his world shatter and feelings he thought he got rid of years ago resurface and heard voices whisper in his mind

"It's all your fault" one hissed

"She got hurt because of you" another growled

"You should have done better" more snarled

"Connie is gonna leave you" the last whispered

Steven felt his skin become scaly and his claws lengthened and horns sprout out of his head with his teeth becoming fangs and finally his eyes become black with glowing pink diamonds. Spinel didn't pay attention to steven nor could look as her eyes were blurred with tears and still focusing on getting connie out. What she didn't expect was to hear a terrifying roar and for the rocks to suddenly explode in a cloud of dust and debree, she covered her eyes and when the debree cleared she uncovered her eyes and saw steven holding connie in his arms on his knees and rocking her back forth murmuring stuff in her hair, not that she could hear him. She was shocked at the scene but what shocked her more was the fact that steven now had a long scaly tail. She carefully got up and walked towads him careful not to make any sudden movements.

"S-steven?" she asked

He didn't respond.

"Steven?" she asked again just alittle louder

Still no response

Spinel took a deep breath and walked to the front of him and sat in front of him and gently placed a hand on his. Stevens head snapped up and he looked at spinel, growling lowly and pulling connie closer to his chest.

"Steven...i know your probably feeling scared and confused but im gonna go get the gems adn their gonna help connie ok?" spinel talked calmly

Steven bared his teeth at the thought of someone touching connie

"Steven i know you dont anyone to touch her but shes seriously injured she needs medical help, please" spinel begged as she looked at connie as her breaths became more labored 

Steven glared at her before finally giving a grunt. Spinel took that as a yes and hurried to get the gems

"Please connie hold on, please steven can't survive without you" spinel said in her head as she ran to the warpad 

Back in the room surrounded by rocks steven still held connie close, whimpering and murmuring in her head

"Don't worry, i won't let anyone happen to you, i promise i'll make it up to you, just stay with me.... i love you" steven murmured as he kissed her forhead softly and stroked her hair.
