Chapter 12: Supplies

3rd person POV

"Snow, it had to be snow, she couldn’t have had tr-tr-tropical magic that covered the f-f-fjords in white sand and warm --"  Bridgette says making Jason chuckle as they see some smoke rise up in a distance.

"That would have been too easy blueberry" Jason jokes as they walk towards the shop.

"Tt your both idiots" Damian says.

"How about my sister" Bridgette asks smirking while shivering.

"She's okay" he says making Jason smirk.

"Okay I like you blueberry" Jason says laughing. "Damian has a crush on the ice Queen"

"That's my sister" Bridgette whines making him chuckle.

'WHOA!" Bridgette cries as she tumbles down the hill. She lands with a crash in an icy stream at the bottom.
"Cold, cold, cold, cold, cold..."she says making Jason chuckle.

Bridgette shuffles up to the building followed by Jason and Damian, her dress frozen stiff. She shakes the snow off a sign

"Wandering Gorilla's Trading Post." She reads.

"Tt we can read" Damian says as snow drops from the smaller sign.

"Really you didn't make it obvious" Brigette says rolling her eyes making Jason laugh. "Ooh! And Sauna..."

"You go in we'll wait outside" Jason says still laughing. "Yell if you need us"

Bridgette steps cautiously through the door--which hits her frozen butt and knocks her into the center of the shop. She looks around, sees only summer supplies.

"Hoo hoo." Gorilla says. Brigette turns to see a bright-faced fellow sitting low behind the counter, fingers tapping tip to tip. "Big summer blow out. Half off swimming suits, clogs, and a sun balm of my own invention, yah"

"Oh, great. For now, how about boots. Winter boots...and dresses?" Bridgette asks.

"That would be in our winter department" gorilla says slightly disappointed.

The winter department contains one outfit, a pick ax, and a lonely pair of boots.

"Oh. Um, I was just wondering; has another young woman, the Queen perhaps, I don’t know, passed through here?" Bridgette as she brings the clothes and boots to the counter.

"Only one crazy enough to be out in this storm is you, dear?" He replies. The front door suddenly blows open and in walks a mass of a man covered in ice. "You and this fellow.... Hoo hoo. Big summer blow out." Filix walks right up to

"Carrots" he says in her face.

"Huh?" Bridgette asks.

"Behind you" he says rolling his eyes.

"Oh, right. Excuse me." She says moving out of Felix's way. He grabs a bunch of carrots, tosses them on the counter, then moves through the place, gathering other supplies.

"A real howler in July, yah? Where ever could it be coming from" gorilla asks Felix.

"The North Mountain." He replies.

"North Mountain." Bridgette says to herself.

Felix brings his supplies to the counter. Gorilla counts on his fingertips.

"That’ll be forty." He says.

"Forty? No, ten." Felix says.

"Oh dear, that’s no good. See these are from our winter stock, where supply and demand have a big problem." He says sweetly.

"You want to talk about a supply and demand problem? I sell ice for a living." Felix says motioning out the window, where we see the blocks of ice on his sled, covered in snow.

"Ooh, that’s a rough business to be in right now. I mean, that is really..." Bridgette says as he shoots her a look "Ahem. That’s unfortunate."

"Still forty. But I will throw in a visit to Gorilla's sauna." Gorilla says "Hoo hoo! Hi, family."

Felix and Bridgette turn to see a naked family waving through the window of the steaming sauna.

"Hoo hoo!" The family says.

"Ten’s all I got. Help me out." Felix says.

"Ten will get you this and no more" Gorilla says taking out the carrots making Felix seethe.

"Okay, just tell me one thing; what was happening on the North Mountain? Did it seem magical" Bridgette asks.

Felix pulls down his scarf.

"Yes!" He says firmly "Now, back up while I deal with this crook here."

Gorilla stands up, revealing his seven-foot stature.

"What did you call me?" He asks.

Felix stomps out the door, carrying Felix with one arm.

"Okay. Okay, I’m- Ow! Whoa!" Felix says as Gorilla throws Felix, who face-plants in the snow.

"Bye bye." Gorilla slams the door as the two boys stare at the scene in shock.

"Should we check on her" Damian asks.

"What your afraid your girlfriend's sister is in danger" Jason teases.

"Tt"

Felix sits up. His reindeer, Sven, canters over, snorts, and nudges him, expectantly.

"No Sven, I didn’t get your carrots" Sven huffs in his face. Filix turns away and sees something. He points to a dilapidated barn.

"But I did find us a place to sleep. And it’s free." He says.

Bridgette stands watching Gorilla and all his great height as he squeezes behind the counter and sits down low again.

"I’m sorry about this violence. I will add a quart of lutefisk, so we’ll have good feelings. Just the outfit and boots, yah?" He asks.

Brigette looks between looks between Kristoff’s supplies and the door.

...

She comes out carrying the supplies in a different set of clothes.

"I think I just found my sister and a ride to the mountains" she says.
