A/N: So, I'm gonna be drawing this back a bit farther from when Given Away actually ended I suppose? This is also an idea that I've had for a good while. And I knowww, it totally defeats the purpose of Luke coming to rescue him but so on. Good luck. :)

(Recap on Dins POV)

He gave him away.. To the Jedi. He had so many feelings in that moment.. All melding into one. Hurt was the feeling... He'd never felt Hurt that way before.. Like it was tearing and ripping through his breaking heart as he watched the thing he'd fought so hard to get back be taken away from him once again.. But he told himself it was for the best, like he was told that Grogu had a lot of potential. Din most definitely he believed it.

He stared back at Grogu as both him and the Jedi stepped into the elevator.. Making eye contact just one last time before the door sealed closed. Before then his eyes had began to somewhat tear up as now he was trying to subside that with the pads of his gloves as he turned to the side, bending down to pick up his helmet.. Hesitantly he did so. He could feel all the eyes in the room on him.. He just wanted to leave. To Kriff with the Dark-saber, he only wanted to just throw this so called "Power" in the airlock and into the endless space outside. Din didn't have the slightest idea of how he'd get off this ship, Alone. His mind was clouded with a sadness that wouldn't just go away.. He needed time, Lots of it. He needed time alone to think and to cope with what had just happened.. The Razor Crest was gone and so was.. Grogu. His head then began to wander as he thought of that once more before placing the helmet back on just as he saw from the windows, The X-Wing had gone. "I'm leaving." He said as a statement. No one ever chimed in at that.. Cara was speechless and so the others. Why was he even wearing the helmet anymore.. It was tainted by the creed that he so forth broken twice. Din didn't care one bit.. Both times were for the creed and so on. If he didn't deserve to be called a Mandalorian after that then so be it. However he did still have the Dark-saber even then as he was walking down the hall as he pressed the button of the elevator making the door open right up. He stepped into at as the door once more sealed behind him.

(Recap ends)

A lump formed in his throat as he looked around, scanning the room for at least feasible way to leave the cruiser.. A Tie-Fighter. He then began hearing little squeaks and chuckles coming from farther in the Hangar.. It sounded quite familiar while it was also somewhat of a melody to his ears to here that again.
"Grogu?" He said, unsure in that very moment as his heart had been beating a mile a minute. 'HOoh?' He could hear that sound over by the crates, making him instantly jog straight towards them. The tiny little green creature then appeared from the side of the crate, lifting his hands up at Din with just the widest smile he could manage. "Grogu.." He said, this time his voice a bit shaken as he picked up the little Womp-rat. Din then hugged the little one into his chest as he let out a relieved sigh.
"The Jedi left you here?"

Luke glanced towards Grogu as he looked down in a sorrowful way. He could feel Grogu's thoughts in that small moment as he stood in front of  the X-Wing as Grogu sat on the crate. The Little one was thinking about Din.. And How much he would miss the Mandalorian. He wanted to stay with him..

'Are you sure?'
He'd nod.
'Hm.. When you're ready, the Temple will be waiting for you, Grogu.'
After that, both exchanged silent goodbyes and parted ways.

"All that matters is that you're.. Back." He let the breath out that he'd been holding in for so long, afraid that he would've just fallen apart if he'd let it out earlier. Maybe it was.. Selfish. The fact that he wanted to keep the little one with him.. With even the fact that he'd grown so attached to the kid.
All this time, Din had been alone.. No one had ever seen his face nor had they'd gotten close to him. He was on this narrow path that only kept shrinking as time had went on.. But everything changed when he dawned that Bounty and taken the Child as his foundling.. The Narrow path had only begun to become wider and wider. Then his path was clear.. He would care for Grogu as his father. When Grogu had almost disappeared with the Jedi, he was sure that things would probably almost turn back to normal or he'd even just.. Disappear for awhile. Even so, if he wanted to forget about the events that transpired during his time with the kid.. He wouldn't be able to.. He could never.

"Thought you were gone for good, Bud.." The Modulator in his helmet couldn't hide the fact that he sniffled at that. He wasn't one to talk about things like this but he knew he just needed to get these words out.. He knew somewhat that he'd be able to understand. Din then held the child in front of him. "I missed you." Din said, almost a whisper to the child. Grogu only stared up at him, placing a three-fingered hand like he'd done before on the cool beskar. He knew he'd have to leave the Mandalorians side again for the better of that much. He just wanted to pick up on lost time.. And not leave the man on such a sad note.. Even so, Grogu would see Din again.. He promised.

"I'll see you again, I promise."
