The entire team had loaded up on the bus ages ago and were now well on their way to Fukurodani.
Naga had chosen a seat to herself that was right across the aisle from Kiyoko and Yachi. Her cheek was currently pushed against the window as she dosed off. Her lack of sleep from the previous night caught up to her and sent her into a fit of slumber.
The bus jumped slightly when it went over a bump, causing her head to bounce and hit the window roughly.
"Jesus fuck." She swore aloud harshly, pulling her head away from the window. Coach Ukai sent her a look so she quietly bowed her head in apologies for swearing aloud.
Looking out the window, her eyes shined as Naga realized they were finally in Tokyo. She could tell they weren't very close to the main city, but it was still Tokyo none-the-less. Her heart was skipping beats and she sat up more in her slumped over position. All memory of being tired immediately washed from her body as adrenaline overtook her.
She whipped around in the seat and reached behind her, slapping Tanaka's leg. He groggily looked up and narrowed his eyes questioningly before Naga pointed out the window. The punk-boy perked up at this as well. Turning back around in her seat, she took out her phone and snapped a few pictures of the scenery as Tanaka loudly started to wake the rest of the bus. Now with Noya's help of course.
"We're almost to Fukurodani!" Tanaka cheered as Takeda-sensei tried to quiet him down since most of the bus was still dead asleep. It was nearing 9am anyway so everyone was bound to wake up at some point soon.
Naga's nervousness was swept away within her excitement for the camp. She was getting restless and couldn't wait to feel the sharp slap of a volleyball across her palm. The rushing feeling of time slowing as she caught the ball at just the right angle with her hand. Slamming it across the other side of the court and seeing the dissatisfied face of the person blocking her.
She had a few tricks up her sleeve that she wanted to release at this camp. Sure she had shown her boys a lot of her skill but she never really put one hundred percent of her abilities to the test in their practice games. Naga pushed herself to her limits but not in the ways she wanted them to see. Her ambidextrous quick attacks specifically for that matter. It was something she knew for a fact that Kageyama would have no problem picking up on, but it was just something that wouldn't benefit the team. She couldn't play with them, she wasn't a boy.
The thought made a tick-mark appear on her head. If she had a skill level that even surpassed some on the male teams, why couldn't she play with them? Life wasn't fair in love and- volleyball. Naga knew this yet it still peeved her. She would give anything to play a real set in a tournament with those boys. They pushed her to her limits and made her improve due to their strength that most female teams never could achieve.
Letting out a chuff of air, she pushed away the obnoxious thoughts and lived in the moment as their bus rolled to a stop. Her heartbeat quickened as she noted that a team was standing outside waiting for them.
"Nekoma."
"Huh?" Naga whipped her head around. Snapping from her daze that she didn't realize she was in. Kiyoko-chan was staring at her with a soft smile that made her face flush. Damn you pretty woman.
"The team out there. That's Nekoma."
"I know that!" Naga hastily snapped but it wasn't meant to sound harsh at all. She knew who the school was. She's seen the boys teams multiple times at tournaments that crossed paths with the girls but she never spoke to them. They really weren't an eyesore though and she was more than happy to get to know them. She sent Kiyoko a sheepish smile and the girl simply laughed at her reaction.
"Fresh meat?" Kiyoko jokingly laughed which made Naga snort. Sugawara heard it which lead to a fit of him making fun of Naga and calling her a pig from the seat in front of her. Naga reached over the back, trying to mess up his hair and punch him. Their jabs only stopping when Daichi exerted his "dad-presence".
They both backed down after that. This would continue at a later time. A silent agreement passed between them with a snickering shoulder-punch from Naga.
Rounding up her carry-on bag, she put her phone in her pocket and slung the drawstring onto her back. Grabbing her duffle from above her on the rack. She was the last one off the bus.
Her heart was instantly hammering in her chest. She could only hope that coach Ukai would immediately get preoccupied with Nekomata and that they wouldn't introduce her.
A collective sigh escaped all of their lips as Ukai had only chatted with Daichi momentarily, giving him one last run down before he went off with the Nekoma coach. "Be good you all." He scolded while walking towards a car that Coach Nekomata had parked near the staff parking.
"Is that... the sky tree?!"
Naga's head turned to the side as Tanaka and Nishinoya excitedly jumped, pointing to what obviously was a large transmission tower.
A raspy hyena-like sound came from her right where she witnessed one of the Nekoma boys doubled over at the two. Tears pricked at his eyes and his arms were wrapped around his stomach.
Daichi walked over to the tall volleyball player and slapped his back with a grin. The other boy quickly contained himself, but a sickly smirk still plastered itself on his face. "Kami that never gets old does it?" The hyena-boy snickered.
"Sorry city-slicker I'm not sure what you mean?"
A puff of air blew out of hyena-boys nose. "Yeah yeah whatever." He tsk'd, clearly not wanting to start an argument just yet. He shrugged Daichi's hand off of his shoulder and caught it within his, squeezing it tightly in a hand shake.
"It's good to see you again Daichi-kun. Can't wait to mop the floor with your ass again." Daichi grimaced at this, the handshake tightening.
"Kuroo-kun. It's great to see you again so soon-" Naga didn't hear the rest of the conversation after she startled from a voice at her side.
"God damnit not again." Suga muttered. She was so engrossed in the interaction that she didn't notice she was staring so heavily.
"What?"
"They do this literally every time- Damnit hang on Na- Kiroji I'll be right back. I need to stop them before they strangled each other."
So that's Kuroo Tetsurou? She let her mind wander as she watched Suga stalking over to the two, grabbing Daichi's and Kuroo's ears. Yelling at them to apologize and hug it out. They reluctantly did, though not without much protest and scrunched faces.
Kuroo certainly was a looker. His bed-head hair spiked up in all the right places and the sly look on his face pulled her in. His grin made her stomach do unnecessary things.
Stupid pretty-boys. She snorted to herself, slapping the color away from her cheeks. She would have plenty of time to interact with him later. Although she did remember that Daichi specifically said to not interact with Kuroo-kun.
She wondered how long that promise would last.
