Chapter 17

Rachel's POV

"I have a twin sister we are identical but opposite in character and personality,I mean before I met Zachary's dad I used to be.....what is the perfect word I can use for this..Ah Boring!" Sarah said making us chuckle.
"But my sister was all fun and games,not worried about the future or anything of that sort ,so in her YOLO spree she met Aiguo the executive CEO of Hilton Resorts ,he was everything a girl could dream of in a man" she said sipping on her wine , subconsciously I also took a sip of my own and like I expected my tastebuds were definitely not disappointed.

"So they met and he took quite a liking on my sister I remember how she used to ditch me on a lot of occasions because of him,so soon word got out about their entanglement and it turned out Zachariah's dad hated Aiguo because not only was he a business rival he was also stealing his shipment so to get back at him they decided to kidnap my sister but false indefiyed her with me so there I was in the back of a SUV with absolutely no idea as to what was going on, I spent three horrible nights before I met the so called Don and trust me those were the worst three days of my life",she said having that far off look again.
The atmosphere kinda felt awkward so I sipped on my wine once more.

"I spent another four days trying to convince Antonio I didn't know Aiguo  basically trying to prove my innocence and he still didn't believe me,my husband is a tough nut to crack but luckily for me Aiguo made contact and I don't know what agreement they made but I was soon released and a month later Antonio kept on showing up at the hospital I worked at with minor injuries and would literally ask me to take care of him, I remember being scared the first time he showed up but soon got used to it to a point where I'd wish he shows up at work,crazy huh?",She said smiling while bringing her glass to her lips.

"I think most of that behaviour was influenced by the fact that my life was literally boring,Antonio was a breath of fresh air,dangerous but impossible not to be addicted, I realised I liked him when I started putting in more effort in my looks when going to work,loved it even more when he would notice the small changes I'd make in my appearance, I got pregnant the first time we did it,weird how Gio was made in less than five minutes" She said laughing at her own joke we all couldn't help but laugh at that.

"Mom" Zach complained faking a gag.

"Okay okay I'll just summarise the rest of the story, I got married soon after and my sister also got married to Aiguo and they currently have five beautiful daughters but they are still trying hoping for a son" she said smiling and turning her attention to us.
"Yes we are family but the tension between Antonio and Aiguo is still there worse now that he is including the boys" she added with an eye roll.

"I'm just glad nobody is getting hurt" I said smiling at everyone.
'Especially Gio' my conscience added.
"It has gotten quite let me check if they're done being boys" Gio's mom said taking her phone out and excusing herself.

"I can't believe you made out with my brother in front of me" Zach said visibly cringing.
"So you guys are like dating dating" Maria asked using her hand quotes to elaborate her point.
"Uh No" I replied feeling my cheeks heat up.
"You hesitated" Maria pointed out.
"No we are...kinda , it's just that Gio made that decision without consulting me and I've come to understand that my opinions don't matter when it comes to him" I said sharing my frustration.
"My brother is like that, He doesn't know when to stop being the boss" Zach said sipping his wine.
"That's fucked up, if he wants to have a partnership with my friend he should acknowledge her as his equal I mean it's the 20th century we shouldn't be having this conversation" Maria said getting more worked up than I am but I totally agree with her point.
"It's actually the 21st century" Zach pointed out making me chuckle.
"That's not the point here,she needs to have a conversation with Mr bossy pants and I want to go home" Maria said downing all her wine.
"Let's go see what's holding mom up" Zach said leaving the table and having us follow behind him.

What used to be a beautiful kitchen and dining area is now a proof of the consequences of violence and destruction,everything  is all over the place not one vase survived the commotion.
"Gina make sure to call Oliver and the cleaners, they must come in tomorrow" Gio's mom said sipping on her wine as she assessed the damage.
"Who is Oliver" Maria asked Zach who in turn rolled his eyes at the mention of the person.
"He is an interior designer" He replied with distaste.
"Where is Gio and the guys" I asked looking around "Probably in the office"Zach replied.
"Okay so what's going to happen I really want to go to bed " I said feeling sleepy.
"You can go to bed I'll wait for London,he needs to take me home,I'm not sleeping here tonight" Maria said stubbornly.
"I can't believe you're still in that dress" I said looking at her "Did you shower" I asked lowly so only the two of us can hear.
"No" she replied making me gasp.
Dragging her upstairs while being  careful she doesn't step on glass as she was still barefoot I said "We are going to Gio's room ,you're going to take a bath and wear one of his clothes" I said not really thinking it over.
"Will he not be mad" Maria asked I'm sure not really giving two fucks.
"Cancel that as long as I'm not wearing London's clothes, and I'm in desperate need of a shower" she replied confirming my suspicion.

I opened the door to Gio's room with Maria behind me and lead her straight to his bathroom.
"This is even better than London's room" she said looking around.
"Okay so the extra towels are in the cabinet and you're basically going to use Gio's toiletries" I said leaving her alone because I had to go look for something she could wear in his closet.

'I'm sure he won't miss one black T-shirt,I mean the guy has thousands of them' I kept telling myself that as I basically stole his Clothes.

I waited for Maria to finish bathing praying that Gio doesn't catch us in act and finally Maria graced me with her presence,butt naked as the day she was born.
"Maria are you fucking crazy Gio could come in any second" I whisper yelled as I threw a T-shirt at her.
"Chill babe, I locked the door" Maria replied putting the shirt on.
"I can't believe I have to carry my thong around,this is literally thee longest one night stand I've ever had" she said huffing out in frustration.
"Don't worry I'll ask Gio to take us home this is ridiculous" I said pacing around as I heard a knock "It's him" I said looking at Maria on Gio's bed in his clothes, he is not going to appreciate that.

Opening the door I saw an exhausted looking Gio,reminding me of the day he was knocking at my door step bloody as Fuck only now he doesn't have any sign of injury.
Stepping aside he entered the room the same time Maria got up leaving.
"Is that my shirt" Gio asked looking after Maria
"Yeah,she took a bath here" I explained searching his face for any expression of discomfort or anger and the was non to my relief.
"Ohh okay,we need to go to my Penthouse seeing as this one is no longer safe maybe we will pass by your place and get your needs" he said taking his laptop bag.
"Is Maria coming" I asked not wanting to leave her here.
"Yeah we are all leaving except for my parents, they're going to their house with Zach" he said taking my hand and leading me down stairs.

When I got to the car Maria was already in it with London on the drivers sit so me and Gio took the back passenger sits, the tension between the two was undeniable even I felt awkward as London was driving.
"Go to their apartments first" Gio said taking my hand in his as he tried leaning on me,he really is tired.
"Long day" I whispered in his ear as I ran my fingers through his hair.
"You have no idea" he sighed making me feel sorry for him.
"Dealing with two stubborn, old and arrogant Mafia Bosses can send you to a mental institution" he said with no humour at all.
"You sure have a lot on your plate" I replied not knowing what to say but to sympathise with him.
"And then there is this ball coming up" He added somehow opening up to me
"A ball doesn't sound that bad plus you could use a break" I replied smiling down at him.
"We're here , Maria do you want me to go in with you" London asked looking at Maria.
"No" Maria replied rudely making London to sign "I'm coming in anyway" he said following Maria into her apartment.
"What's their problem" Gio asked looking at me.
"Your friend is an ass" I replied shrugging my shoulders "Okay that I already know, I've been meaning to ask how are you after this whole attack" Gio asked keeping eye contact "At first I was scared and then your mom reassured me that everything will  be okay so I kinda chilled and destructed myself " I replied kissing his forehead as he rested his head on my lap "She must like you then" Gio said smiling at me "I'm sure it's impossible not to" I replied playfully
"Ohhhhh is that so miss Miller" Gio teased looking at my chest with a suggestive smile on his gorgeous face.
"No" I said knowing very well that Maria and London will be back any second from now.
"I'm not doing anything" Gio said as he continued to stare at breast "You're impossible" I said shaking my head at him.
"Only for you mio amore" he replied making me blush scarlet.
