Confusion

Narrator's POV 

Billie and Katie were confused, as were the rest of them. 

"Mommy?" The little voice put out.

Billie looked over to see a little girl that had blonde hair and blue eyes. Like her. 

"Lilly?" Billie asked no one in particular. 

"Yes, demon baby's grow differently, you could say." An familiar voice answered. 

Everyone turned to looked at the voice to find Aqua standing there smiling. 

Billie's POV

I turned back around to look at the little girl who looked at the edge of tears. Why exactly, I don't know. 

"Why don't you want me, mommy?" The little girl bursted out in tears. 

My eyes went wide. "Hey, its ok. Why do you think we don't want you?" 

"Because you didn't answer me when I called. And when you saw me you didn't come. You looked at me weirdly." 

"We were just confused, thats all. You are my baby." I answered while snuggling her, which made her giggle. 

I looked over my shoulder to see a nervous Katie. 

I grabbed Lilly and sat her on my lap. " Whats wrong mamas?" 

Katie's head wiped towards me. Her brows where tilted and her eyes were full of worry. 

"N-nothing." She answered while looking down. 

"Mommy?" 

I think I'm mommy. 

"Yes?" my eyes meeting hers. 

"Who is she?" Lilly pointed to Katie. 

To say I was shocked was an understatement. 

Once I looked back up Katie had tears in her eyes. 

"Hey, Lilly. Why don't you play with Uncle Finneas." 

"Okiee." Lilly jumped off my lap and ran towards my brother. 

Once they were out of site I walked to Katie. I picked her up and sat back down on the couch. Making sure she was straddling  me. 

"What's wrong?" I asked looking into her emotion filled eyes. 

"I'm scared." 

"Why?" 

Katie took a second to think. 

"What if I'm not good enough? I never thought I would become a mother. I thought that while she was a baby I could get myself together. But now that she isn't, what am I supposed to do? I didn't even get a day to process everything and now, I have a like a what 6 year old. Thats crazy."

"I know, it is crazy. But she is a little girl who wants a family. You can tell she is going to be a sensitive girl, imagine how she would feel if her....other mommy didn't want her." I threw out there. 

"She didn't even know who I was." Tears ran down her cheeks. 

I put my hand on her cheek and whipped them off. 

"Once she knows, she will never want to leave you. I promise you, you will be a great mother. I already know. Once you learned that, that Conner dude wanted to hurt Lilly and me, you went off. You care for her more then you know. Just give it time. She is a part of your life now."  

Katie sniffled, " I know, I just don't know what to do."

"Show her you love her. She will get attached. You are her Mother. The woman who gave birth to her." 

She nodded her head, "Ok." She smiled. 

I mirrored her actions. Katie snuggled her head into my neck, "I love you." 

"I lover you to mamas." 

"Mommy!" 

A crying Lilly came into view. Which made me and Katie jump. 

"Yes?" I answered. 

"Uncle said I d-don't have a d-daddy."

"You don't." Katie answered.

"Why?" Lilly whispered snuggling into me. 

"Because, you have 2 mommys." 

My answer shocked Lilly. 

"Do you know what that means?" I asked.

"Yes, Aqua taught me it. But I didn't know I had a family like that." 

"You do. Is that ok?" Katie held fear in her eyes waiting for her answer. 

"Duh." 

Lilly's answer made me and Finneas laugh, hard. While Katie's eyes became soft. 

"Fuck, we got a mini Billie." Katie threw herself back. 

"So where is my mama?" 

"Katie, you're mama and I'm mommy, got it?" I asked looking at her. 

I saw Lilly follow the direction I was looking at, and when she saw I was looking at Katie her eyes held love.

"Mama!" Lilly yelled and jumped into Katie's arms. 

Katie's eyes went wide, and she didn't hug her back.

But after some time she did. She held her like her life depended on it. 

And what Katie didn't know was I took a picture. But once the flash went off I was busted. 

Katie went to say something, but was interrupted by Lilly. 

"I wanna play." 

"C'mon then." Katie and Lilly ran off. 

"It's ready." Finneas whispered out. 

I smiled knowing my plan was working.
