My eyes rolled ever so slightly at the sight before me. The great hall. Here I was, another year at hogwarts.

"Oh come on Amora, I know you hate school but we don't have long left here now. Can you at least pretend to enjoy it?" I quickly turned to my best friend shooting her a lightly annoyed look before answering.

"Hermione, you know I love you and would do just about anything for you. But what you've just suggested is completely impossible." I spoke as she rolled her eyes in response.

"Come on grumpy. Let's go find the boys." She sighed.

"Sure" I laughed as I took the hand she'd reached out toward me.

Scanning the tables that lined the great hall, we finally spotted the rest of our friends. Harry, Ron, Neville and Luna. Hermione practically ran over to them while I walked behind her.

"About bloody time you two showed up. What took you so long?" The ginger boy snapped.

"Oh we were just making love in the broom closet that's all." I joked. Hermione shot me daggers with her eyes while Ron looked down at the table I front of him.

"Oh lighten up Ron it was a joke"

"Yeah very funny 'Mora."

"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that?" I sneered.

"I know but it's just easier isn't it"

"Seriously? It's literally one less letter."

"Yeah. Like I said, easier"

"Whatever, 'Onald."

Hermione, Neville and Luna all giggled. Harry however, simply looked at me blankly. Though this wasn't anything new. Harry had always had a problem with me. I could only assume it was because of my house. I was in Slytherin. Which was baffling because he had no problem befriending Luna, and she's a ravenclaw.

"Anyway" I announced. "I better get going and sit with the others. I'll catch up with you guys later"

They all smiled and said goodbye as I departed from the table.

Here we go again I thought to myself.

As I approached the rest of slytherin house I scanned the table looking for an empty space to sit. And of course, the only space was next to Draco and his minions.

Great.

I reluctantly headed over and sat down. As I did I heard a familiar voice.

"Must you sit there? I'd rather not catch whatever you've contracted from the gryfindors."

I turned around to make direct eye contact before speaking.

"Believe me, I'd rather sit anywhere else. However this is the only free space so suck it up Parkinson."

"How dare you speak to me that way, mudblood."

I let out a slight laugh.

"Oh because you're so special? You know It's always amused me that the only insult you have to use against me, is one that isn't even true. You are fully aware of my blood status."

"Lies. You aren't the pure blood you claim to be. How could you be?! You spend all your time with gryffindors and have never once mentioned your parents. I'd rather  jump off the astronomy tower than be friends with a gryffindor." Pansy sneered.

I wish you would I thought to myself.

"I don't have to prove myself to you. Or to anyone. And honestly I couldn't care less what you think. You're just a puppet. Now please do me a favour and stop talking to me. I fear my ears may start to bleed if you carry on."

Pansy scoffed and turned to Draco.

"Draco! Are you listening to this?"

He didn't respond. His head was in his hands and dare I say it, he looked almost sad. An emotion I didn't realise a Malfoy could express.

"Draco?!" Pansy almost screamed.

His head finally shot up.

"What do you want pansy?!" He sneered.

"Have you been listening to what this disgrace has been saying to me?"

"No. And honestly, I don't care. Maybe if you left her alone you she wouldn't be retaliating. Deal with your own shit and stop expecting me to fight your battles for you." As he finished speaking he stood up from his seat and began to walk away, out of the great hall.

"What- Draco... wait..." pansy shouted while chasing after him.

What a sheep.

Pansy being a complete bitch wasn't anything new. What was, however, was the way Draco had acted.

Usually he'd be joining in with the taunts and teases. But today he didn't even acknowledge them. And, dare I say it, he actually kind of defended me?

I realised quickly he was probably just have a shit day and didn't want pansy making it any shitter. That was probably the only reason he said what he said and there was no point reading into any further.
