"What do you think of law study now that you gave it a try?" Shuichi asked, chuckling a little to himself. You simply pouted, crossing your arms.
"I feel like I'm gonna fail that class! Mr. Brown is such a meanieee!" You whined like a child, looking up at Shuichi.
"Calm down... I can help you," Shuichi offered, making you gasp with happiness and a little bit of excitement.
"Really?!" You felt your hands start to rub themselves together out of happiness, and when Shuichi nodded you couldn't help but squeal a little, "Oh my gosh, THANK YOU!!"
"It's... not that big of a deal," Shuichi chuckled a little at your childish behavior. You suddenly let out a gasp, quickly pulling out your phone.
"Wait! Ahh... I knew it! My next class is in like half an hour... eh? Homeroom? Sorted by major... science and criminal justice based majors? Wait... does that mean we might have the same homeroom too?" You asked, showing Shuichi your schedule and pointing to the class you were talking about. Shuichi took the piece of paper containing his schedule from his pocket to check.
"Ah... yep. We have the same homeroom," Shuichi nodded, showing you his schedule as well.
"Damn, two shared classes back to back... Well, it's easier to suffer with a friend than alone," You laughed a little as Shuichi put his schedule away.
"Yeah. Do you want to walk together?" Shuichi suggested, and you shrugged.
"Sure, why not? We're going to the same place anyway," You giggled a little, and the two of you started leaving the building. However, when the two of you got to the lobby, you noticed that it had begun to rain, and rather harshly too. You groaned since you didn't have much to protect you from the rain and you figured you'd probably have to run through the rain to prevent getting drenched as much as possible, "You're kidding me... it's raining?! But the sky was so clear all day..."
"Ah, hold on. My umbrella's a little small since it's mostly meant for one person, but we can try to squeeze in together," Shuichi offered, taking off his backpack and starting to search through the contents.
"For one, why do you casually have an umbrella? And two, if it prevents me from getting drenched, count me in!" You laughed to yourself as you watched Shuichi finally find his umbrella, though he only opened it once the two of you were outside.
"Well... it never hurts to be prepa-""Ah! Please wait!" a loud, somewhat high pitch voice called. It wasn't a bad high pitch though, it was actually a very smooth and buttery voice. You and Shuichi whirled around in the direction of the shout to see a boy with hair similar to Shuichi's but without an ahoge and a little more blue running up to the two of you. He wore a very fancy suit that looked incredibly expensive with a red bowtie that also looked very neat. His entire appearance {other than the fact he'd just ran} was incredibly professional, and once he'd caught up to the two of you and caught his breath, his posture and body language also became professional, "My apologies for conducting myself so inappropriately and for making the two of you wait, but I have a selfish request to make..."
"What is it?" Shuichi asked, clearly hoping there was some way he would be able to help the odd stranger. Another thing you noticed but tried not to make verbal note of was how tall the stranger was! It wouldn't surprise you if he was at least six feet tall!
"It would be a huge favor to me if you would give me the privilege to walk under your umbrella with you, if we're going to the same place for at least a part of the way," the stranger awkwardly scratched the back of his head, clearly a little nervous to be asking for a favor of a complete stranger.
"We're heading to the science department. What about you?" You prompted. The stranger gave off this huge aura of being polite and being really nice, and you genuinely wanted to help him because of it.
"Oh, I'm heading to the science department too!" the stranger slightly gasped, surprised at the fact the three of you were all headed towards the same building. Shuichi motioned for the stranger to get under the umbrella, and although it was very crowded and all of you still had a little rain fall on you because the umbrella was too small for three people, it was much better than getting completely drenched.
"So uh... what's your name?" Shuichi sort of awkwardly questioned, trying to break the ice and the uncomfortable silence.
"Oh no! My apologies for being so rude and not introducing myself! My name is Simon Beamte, and I'm the Ultimate Lawyer," the stranger, apparently Simon, introduced himself courteously, "If I may ask... what are your names?"
"I'm Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective," Shuichi introduced himself.
"And... I'm (Y/N) (L/N), the Ultimate Forensic Scientist," You introduced yourself as well, "Wait... Ultimate Lawyer would be criminal justice based, right? Are you heading to homeroom?"
"Yes, I am," Simon was clearly even more surprised at the fact the three of you had the same class {unless there was another homeroom class going on for some reason}. What were the odds of running into someone else going to the same class as you?
"Wow, what a coincidence," You laughed a bit, not wanting the conversation to suddenly die now because it would be awkward. Plus, you were getting interested in learning more about the lawyer because he seemed really nice. Hoping to keep the conversation going, you added, "Y'know... I always expected an Ultimate Lawyer would be really uptight or something. But you're like super nice!"
"Ah, really? Thank you! I just... really think it's important to be kind to others," Simon blushed a little bit from your compliment and scratched the back of his head, clearly feeling flattered by your compliment. You'd be lying if you said it wasn't cute.
"Well, being nice to others can have a lot of benefits," Shuichi chuckled a little, a smile on his face. You got the feeling that Simon and Shuichi would be really good friends since they both seemed really wholesome. You giggled to yourself at that thought, choosing to just eavesdrop on their conversation and watch them hopefully become friends.
