Before we go on with the chapter, I would like to say something that means...a lot to me. But, if the sappy ish isn't your stuff, please enjoy this chapter of Becoming Royal!

Anyways, I'd like to talk about something that is just amazing to me. I was planning on updating this on the 21, but that was my brother's birthday and we were celebrating.

December 21, 2017 was the day I posted my first book. I was so scared yet excited for All Because of Biana (originally named "all because of keefe") I had hoped for someone to read, just a single person.

I now have almost 60k reads on that book.

I remember looking at other peoples' books and seeing maybe 20k reads. And I wished I could be like them, so badly. And now that I have that, I couldn't be more grateful.

I'm probably putting this chapter out on Christmas Eve, and there will be a cliff hanger (feel free to scream at me) but will be posting the chapter to resolve said cliffhanger on Christmas.

Thank you for everything you've given me. You probably hear this a lot, but you really do mean the world to me. You're wonderful readers who make me smile every time you comment. Mainly after I get out of history, might I add, which makes the day so much better.

Thank you, my dear saplings.

I hope you enjoy the chapter, and merry Christmas.

(Unless you celebrate something else, then happy day off!)

"You went against the law! You broke my trust!" Grady said to Sophie. They were in his office, accompanied by Alden, guards and her mother.

"Yes, but you left me no choice.." Sophie stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Father I love you, I always will and always have. But I'm not a little girl anymore. I don't blame you for anything. But I just wish for freedom. I have..goals and people counting on me,"

He took a deep breath, opening his arms. She walked over to him and wrapped him in a hug. "I'm just scared, honey. I know you're not like Jolie. You are far too careful. And I realize that it was silly of me. I've known Fitz since he was a baby, he wouldn't hurt you,"

"I know," she stepped back and her hands slid into his. "But can I uhh, ask you something?"

She turned and made eyes contact with Alden, who nodded and smiled. "Let's give them their space, men. Good day."

"Farewell, Alden," Grady said. "I am truly sorry..as one father to another, understand my actions,"

Alden nodded again, walking out of the room without a word.

When the door was shut, Sophie took a deep breath.

"During my kidnapping, I had been shown something. Well, you always told me that my human parents put me on the steps of the castle and.. what I mean to say is, I was shown an entirely different story. I..I'm the reason they're gone, aren't I?"

Grady and Edaline shared a look.

"You're not wrong," Edaline stood and rubbed Sophie's back. "But we were scared that it would shatter you. Know that it was not your fault. Children often don't think of their actions. We're sorry we hid it from you.."

"I have to find her," Tears welled in Sophie's eyes. "I have to find Amy. She could be hurt, scared, gosh she's not much younger than me! Do you think she's..?"

"Alive?" Grady asked. "Frankly, I don't know. It's possible she is, but it's been years, we don't know where she might be by now."

"Can you do me a favor?" Sophie fiddled with her newly cut hair. "Can you please send troops to all the surrounding kingdoms, and look for her. I can't believe I didn't keep my promise,"
