(Blue POV)

Tracey and I have been lazing around my bedroom for 3 days now, Marcus giving me a reprieve from my coucilling duties. My family have been treating her better which makes me very happy. We're still waiting on our other mate and keep speculating what she'd look like "I think she'll be tall, like me" I say

"Nah. I think she'll be short and cute" Tracey giggles

"She's a dragon shifter, they're like Amazonian goddesses. Strong and powerful" I grunt while doing a poor job of flexing my bicep

"Okay killer" Tracey laughs "Don't hurt yourself"

"Ha" I sarcastically laugh "That's pretty much all I can do. I say a red head"

"No way! I say she has black hair" She counters

"Nope! I'm telling ya, she's going to be a ginger"

"You like red heads?"

I blush and look away from her "Maybe" I mumble

"So you don't like my blonde hair?" She fake gasps

"Meh" I joke only for her to scowl at me

"Don't you 'Meh' me you little shit" She playfully growls "Or I'll never kiss you"

"I mean....I prefer blondes soooooo....." I try to say quickly

"I hope she's bald so you'll never know" My mate smirks

"Uh....I'll see her other hair eventu-"

"Okay stop" Tracey laughs "To soon!"

"I just saying" I smirk

It's silent for a while before Tracey looks at me seriously "Does it get to you? Constantly being in pain"

"Nah. What gets to me is I see my friends and family achieving so much and I'm left being carried to the bathroom" I sigh "I sometimes feel like a burden, especially to my parents"

"Why?"

"Because they literally have to put their life on hold, just so I can be as normal as possible" I do my best to blink away my tears "If I wasn't like this...." I motion to my body "Maybe my parents could have the life they wanted"

"Who's to say that being your mother isn't the life they wanted?"

"Cause they don't want anymore children" I shrug

"I don't think that's because of you" She points out "My parents only had 2 kids, even as the Alpha family my Dad and Papa said only 2. Maybe your parents wanted to stop at twins. Having children takes a lot out of you, I've seen many men and women struggle through a pregnancy. My Papa was hospitalized 2 months in being pregnant with my brother and 3 weeks in with me. He hated being bedridden but would do anything for us kids. He put his life on hold for Lance and I. He helped us to grow, laugh and had the freedom to make our own decisions, while standing in the background ready to step in if need be. It's a parents job to take care of their children and make sacrifices, it's what being a parent is all about"

"I guess"

"You need to stop seeing yourself as a burden" She says "If you were a burden, you wouldn't have the friends you have or a family that loves you. They'd resent you and probably treat you terribly. Your parents don't do the things they do cause they have too, they do it because they want you" She says smiling at me "There are many care homes they could've sent you too and forget about you but they didn't, and they won't. You are loved Blue, don't forget that"
