The bearing hot day was nearly over in (C/N) and the sun was just at eye level. Prussia and Hungary have been wandering the forest for a whole day now and were exhausted, though, their fears of the undead kept them going."I'm tiiiired," Prussia groaned as he began to drag his feet as dramatic effect.
Hungary rolled her eyes at his childish antics. "We can't stop now, those things are probably not too far behind us. We need to keep going so we can get back to the others."
"But I'm so tired. My awesome feet need a break." He protested, slowing down behind her.
Hungary was going to argue back until her head perked up at the faint sound of something in the distance.
For a moment she was fearful of the source. It could be the undead for all she knew.
Her actions caught Prussia's attention as he too began to grow silent to listen to whatever caught her interest. Both of them were straining their hearing for any signs of the groaning of the horrible creatures but found none. Instead, it sounded like...running water.
A wide smile grew on Prussia's face as he made a dash towards the heavenly noise.
"Prussia wait!" Hungary called out, but it was too late. Prussia already ran off without her. A sigh left her lips as she made her way over into the direction the said man went. Too afraid to be alone.
She pushed her way through low branches and over lingering tree roots as she followed the alleged 'keskeskes'. Another eye roll fell from her features as she heard them.
Just beyond the trees was a small river that was flowing through the forest. The waters reflected clearly in the light, making it look like a merical to the parched women. Prussia was already diving into the savory waters by dunking his hands into the waters like a mad dog and scooping the water into his mouth in big handfuls.
Hungary would have laughed but she was far too deprived of refreshments as well. It's been a whole day since they had water and they spent it running in the burning sun. She was glad the trees were providing decent covering; from more things than one.
Crouching down, she began to follow Prussia's actions and started scooping the crisp spring water into her dry, desert of a mouth was like a gift for the gods. A satisfied groan left her lips as gulp more water from her hands. Though her bliss was short lived once she heard a laugh from the man beside her.
"What?" Hungary asked, slightly irritated.
The man only smiled more at her impatient actions. "I thought ladies were a lot more civil than this? The mighty Hungary drinking from a river." Prussia commented as he broke out into another laugh. "I never thought I'd see the day again."
The Hungarian woman blushed as she sat up and wiped the reaming water from her lips. "I don't have much of a choice given our situation."
Prussia only continued to laugh. Though the snap a nearby stick caught his ears and he quickly stopped and pulled Hungary down so that they both were hidden by the bank.
Hungary was neither prepared nor aware of what was happening. "What are you-"
Prussia was quick to place a silencing hand to her mouth as he gazed at her in full seriousness. Hungary knew not to press further and nodded her head in understanding. Seeing this, he let go of her mouth but kept her tight in his protective embrace as they waited for the dreaded thing to move to pass them.
The both of them attempted to shirk within the side of the river bank as much as they physically could to conceal their bodies from whatever stumbled their way. They prayed that it just be an animal passing through, though, they both doubted it.
