TW!!! Blood, Gore, and Murder
Light once again shown through the windows. It was a GREAT DAY!!!! I got ready for school, ran out of my room and hugged my mom. She was much younger now and felt great happiness in seeing me.
With true love she called out "Have a great day honey!"
"I will mommy!!!"
"I love you honey!" She waved me off and I did the same believing in her words. I saw my dad working on the garden and waved hoping for a response today. He looked up and smiled and waved back... That was odd.
School. My home away from home.
"HEY IZY!!!!!" Boy was I excited to see her. She was much younger now, maybe 10 or 11. She was still blonde with her strikingly beautiful eyes.
"Hey John! You ready for school? I know I am. And it's the first day back from summer break!!!" Her voice was as excited as usual.
"Ya, I hear that everyone always remembers their first day of fifth grade, I wonder why?" We got to the school, the bricks a dull brown from so many years of wear and degradation. The glass doors were sealed by duct tape and cardboard because of the wars, and lack of funding to get them fixed. I grabbed the rusty handle and opened the doors.
"Thank you!" Said Izy cheerily on her way in. I trailed behind her in quick pursuit towards the office to see what classes we had, and if we had them together. We did, so we quickly headed to out home room. I felt pure joy upon entering the room, and the joy was only furthered when I was sat next to Izy. Around the room there were standard motivational quotes, grammar posters, and other posters with common math properties.
"Good morning class!!! How is everyone today?" There was a quick succession of very positive responses before the teacher continued. "Hello everyone, I'm glad you could all be here today!" She had a smile that could definitely be genuine, asides from the slight fear in her eyes. It was just a very small twinge, and as fast as I'd noticed it it disappeared. Right after that my teacher started. "Today class we'll start by introducing ourselves!"
But I had already tuned her out. "Izy" I forcefully whispered. She looked over at me and scooted closer.
"Whatcha need buddy?" She whispered close to my ear.
"Did you notice how the teacher was acting weird earlier?" I looked around at everyone to seem less suspicious.
Izy looked at me with a quizzical expression and asked, "You're not going through a paranoia stage again are you, cause I don't think the teachers going to hire someone to shoot us or anything."
I shook my head, "No, no... not that. I'm just curious if you thought she was acting weird. I don't think she'll hurt us, she just seemed a little scared."
She nodded slightly and said, "No, I haven't really noticed that, let's just get back to..." Izy was then interrupted by the teacher.
"Izy, is there something you'd like to share?" The teacher asked in a condescending tone.
"Oh ya, sorry... Hi, my name is Izy. I like being people's friend, making new friends, and hel-,"
At that moment there was an alarm that started to go off, alerting everyone of an intruder. Having done the drill so many times we all scrunched up against the wall, out of sight, trying to relax. I quickly climbed on top of the cabinet to the side and behind the door frame. I moved a pencil out of my way so I could sit comfortably.
There was a bang and screaming from the other room which scared most of us. Some people were breathing heavily which was what ultimately what gave us away. The door got smashed open making everyone flinch. Parts of the door went flying and hit someone who got knocked out. Everyone put their hands up in fear and surrender to their fates. The aggressor wasn't very tall or muscular. The only thing that made him so dangerous and menacing was the gun he held in his hand. All of them had their heads down not seeing what the man was about to do.
With the gunman distracted by the others I grabbed a pencil I had moved off the top of the cabinet and jumped down and landed on top of the man. He fell to his side resulting in a bone breaking crack. There was a gasp at my actions since most of them had forgotten I was on top of the cabinet. The gun fell away from the shooter causing him to reach for it, but I quickly put my knees on top of his shoulders preventing him from moving. I knew he could easily overpower me so I had to act quick.
Face to face with him I pulled up the pencil above my head and swung down with all my might plunging it into his eye socket. There was a scream of agony as blood shot out of his head. He threw his arms up in a last ditch effort to escape. I quickly got up to look at what I had done, only to see a writhing body that quickly went still. Blood was staining the stone floor and pooling towards the desks nearest to the witnessing crowd.
I stood up and looked around seeing children's stunned and scared faces around me. Izy backed away from me in fear. There was a sinking feeling in my stomach as what just happened sank in. I killed someone.
