:Alex:

As I sat in Coach Washington's classroom, I couldn't help but think about what happened with Jefferson-shit.
Why was he biting his lip? Was it because he liked me or because that's a thing he does often? Why did he get so offended when I came back at him with that stupid, meaningless comeback? UGHH!

"Class. Today we are going to be going over our syllabus and some small items that you'll need to get, if you haven't gotten them already." Mr. Coach Washington beamed. "Alrighty. Hamilton. Come pass these out!"

I got up from my seat and walked towards his desk. I picked up the mint green stack of papers and walked up and down the columns of desks, handing each person a stapled stack of paper. Once I was done, I handed the rest to Washington and turned on my heel to go back to my desk.

Once I was there, I glanced over every word, every space, every period on the papers. A few things stuck out to me like some of the topics on the timeline were switched, there were a few spelling errors, and that the last page was turned around, to where the blank side of the paper was showing not the front side.

"Ok so on page one we have the usual rules. Please read them to yourself." He paused and gave us time to read. "Alrighty in to the second page. This is a timeline through history and the topics that we will cover. Please read them over." I raised my hand.

"Yes Hamilton?"

"Um not meaning to be rude or anything but some of the topics are out of order. Like Pearl Harbor and the Cold War need to be switched."

"Very good! I did that on purpose to see if anyone knew anything about history and were actually doing as I asked. I should've known that you would've caught that! See me after class to claim your reward!"

"Yessir!" I beamed with excitement, wondering what my prize will be.

"On to page three! These are supplies that you need to have in order to succeed in this class. If you cannot purchase any of these things, please shoot me an email." Some kid in the back raised his hand. I assume it was James Reynolds, or JR as we all call him.

"Yes sir?"

"Um you misspelled pencils. You spelled it penclis."

Coach Washington got flustered for a second but shrugged it off. "Good job kid! Come to me after class and you and Mr Hamilton can claim the rewards. But now, as you can see, the fourth page is flipped over. I want you to write your name at the top, read all of the directions and then read it off the packet. You may begin."

I flipped it over, scribbled my name at the top, then got to reading. These are all silly things. Why would we need to say the ABC s backwards and do three laps around the room? I read over the directions like Washington had said to and came across some fine print at the bottom.

I looked up and saw kids running around the room, pushing each other around so that they can be the first one back to their seats. I glanced at Washington's desk and saw him laughing to himself. I let out a small laugh and looked around the room. Many people were scribbling on their papers or saying their ABCs backwards, struggling a bit. I just turned in my empty paper and got many confused looks.

———————10 minutes later———————
"The only two people who passed were Alexander Hamilton and Peggy Schuyler. Everyone come receive their papers and return to your desks."

Wait. Peggy is in this class??!! She's like my best friend!

The flood of students looked confused but grabbed their papers anyway. After they got seated Mr Washington started talking.

"If I recall correctly, my instructions were to read the directions first, which I conclude that they also say to read all directions. If you were to have followed them, you would've seen the fine print at the bottom that said to turn in your paper empty with only your name at the top. All of you except for two followed these instructions and therefore will be the only two to actually pass my class, that is, unless you step up your game." He finished his speech right as the bell rang. Everyone filed out of the class except for JR, Peggy and I.

"PEGGY! I didn't realize that you had this class first period!"

"ALEXXX!! I thought that was you when you walked in!"

"Yep! Oh JR! How was your summer?"

"Alex, it was fine! Based off your Instagram, I assume yours was also good?"

" You know it!"

A throat cleared behind us.

"Well Alex, JR. I have to get going! My class is all the way over... There!" Peggy pointed to the furthest room on the school map.

"Alexander. James. Here you go!" Coach Washington said as he handed us an iTunes gift card and a Play store gift card.

JR and I thanked him and walked out of the classroom. We switched cards because he had an Android phone whereas I had an iPhone.

We split ways at the end of the hallway and I headed to Mr Womack's class. Gross. Math.

I heard some footsteps behind me but didn't think much of them because I am in a big school. I turned the corner and saw Aaron Burr waiting for me. Oh fuck.

:Thomas:
I was walking to my next class when I got a text.

Preschooler
Preschooler: yo did u beat Alex up?
Thommay: didn't really get the chance to. Gwash came up and stopped us before I got to.
Preschooler: u want to right now?
Thommay: I can't but you can.
Preschooler: finally I have wanted to for a while now...
Thommay: this is a job for one. I can follow him if you'd like
Preschooler: yep

Shit what if he actually hurts him. He has no chill so once he starts it probably won't stop...'

My thoughts became true when I saw Burr drag Alex to the bathroom. He was fighting against Burr because I'm sure he knew what was happening.

:third person:

The three boys entered the bathroom and locked the door. Thomas stood in the background and watched as Burr threw punch after punch, landing some on Alexander's kidney, some in his diaphragm.

He started going higher, aiming for his nose. He hit it and Alexander dropped. His eyes were the seas and his torso the sand. Tears hit his chest as he hurled himself up into the wall.

"Burr. I don't know what your FUCKING PROBLEM IS!" He hurled himself at the man as he stepped back.
Perfect. He's moving back now so my kicks will be more effective. But what if he...
Burr caught his ankle and twisted Alex in the air. He landed with a thud on his jaw and was almost out when he heard a glimpse of a conversation going on.

"Burr you've gone too far this time."

"It's fine Tommy."

He was gone.
Out.
Like a light.
