☯︎︎

The summer night's breeze rustles through the leaves of the trees set up on the sidewalk the little girl is currently taking a stroll on, skipping cheerily with not a single care in the world.

Her long black hair is braided back into two long french braids that bounce up and down with her as she skips through Fever District, two bright red ribbons tied at the ends of them. Going down the usual path she takes to a certain hideout she discovered for herself, she keeps an eye out for any of her Meisters that might have decided to follow.

Ever since she entered the training program at 12 she hasn't been allowed to have contact with the outside world, and being the youngest in the program made her an outcast.

Even still, she never let that set her back from sneaking out past midnight to get to her safe place. The place where she goes to take a break from her gloomy, daily life. A place where she can be free to do what she wants, no matter how silly or childish it may be because that was another thing she was prohibited from doing when she was at the MALUS dorms; being a child.

She arrives finally at the familiar street she always turns on to get to her destination, a street called Opal Avenue.

The girl had come across this street once on a drive around town with Ursula. Since she could remember, Ursula had always had a soft spot for her, taking her wherever she went. She treated the girl as her own daughter, and the girl regarded the woman as her Meister.

As the years went by, Ursula would sneak the girl out to different parties she went to, and they would help each other with conning people. The girl would bring The Duchess more money with the pity she could arouse in people and the more money meant the more toys and whatnot for her.

There was one time that The Duchess brought her past this here street after a successful con scheme and it captivated her. There was no logical reason for why she was drawn to this dead street, supposing that it was just because of the pretty name, so when she started to sneak out on her own, she immediately came to investigate the place.

It was a dark street, one hidden away from the view of curious eyes and for the most part, abandoned. No one ever came here after construction on a certain building on this street stopped.

This is another thing that attracted the little girl to the street. She found its quiet, deserted-ness a charming quality.

Who knows what secrets a street like this could hold, one shrouded in mystery and darkness? She would ask herself over and over again and she was more than pleased when she found that abandoned building. She even memorized its address.

14199 Opal Avenue, Fever District, XN 22378

Her ruby-red, Mary Jane shoes halted as soon as they arrived in front of the building, her eyes scanning the area for the door to her little hideout. She quickly finds the hole, crouching down and crawling through it while she tries her best not to dirty her black overall-skirt.

Finally getting through the crawl space, she arrives at the little room, the only room that was ever finished in this building, her safe-space.

The girl reaches out to click on the little fairy lights she decorated the room with, getting the power from a solar-powered energy generator she stole from MALUS— one of the many things she stole to make this place her second home.
