Clarity.

Stillness.

Quiet.

Three components surrounding her as she holds her breath. In the water, nothing can touch her, nothing can reach her. In the water, she's brought to focus and to meditate on what's important.

The sense of tranquility brought on by the water helps her think things through, like all the hallucinations she's been seeing as of late.

It helps her look back and reflect on what went wrong, on what started this tumultuous turn of events.

But even with the clarity and stillness that the water brings her, she can't help but let her thoughts drift away to San. To the way, she murdered him in the video.

For the past few days she's been left to think on her own about what could've caused her to kill him, but she always comes to a dead-end when she remembers the panic and worry that drove the girl in the video to try to save San— that drove her to try to save San.

She can still see clearly the look of terror for what she had done written on her own face as she frantically called people over to help stop the bleeding. If that even really was her.

The image she has in mind becomes a bit too realistic, so she decides to swim back up to the surface, using her arms and kicking the water with her legs to speed up her pace. She had been going under at intervals of 3 minutes and was starting to feel out of breath, especially because of the elevated heart rate the thought of that video gave her.

Taking a big gulp of air when she gets to the surface, Kurenai starts to swim to one end of the large indoor pool, not minding anyone's business but her own until she finally reaches the end.

There, on the edge of the swimming pool, she's met with a pair of feet that hold up the crouching man in front of her. She looks up at said figure to see who it is and she instantly recognizes those narrow eyes that are looking directly into hers curiously.

"I've been looking for you everywhere," San smiles down at her cheekily. "I've wanted to talk to you for some time now but it felt like you were purposely avoiding me."

"Why would you waste your time looking for me?" They stare at each other for a second, his face dangerously close to Kurenai's when she realizes that he's not going to move or answer, so she sighs. "Whatever, just help me up." She extends a hand and he takes it, pulling her out of the pool.

She sits on the pool's edge alongside him, dripping with water and even getting some on San's clothes which makes him jump back a bit with a grimace. He passes her the towel she had left on one of the pool chairs, extending it and draping it over her shoulders while watching her aimlessly as she dries herself off.

She mumbles a small thank you to him and he gets a little lost studying her swimsuit that perfectly outlines the small curvature of her athletic figure. His eyes trail her tattoos at first, going lower and lower that he has to make an effort to keep his eyes from going further than they should.

He quickly gets flustered, his face turning a bright red as he fiddles with a plastic bag he has in another hand.

"What's in there?" Kurenai nods toward the bag, and he quickly explains himself, trying to divert attention from his flushed face.
