Detention had been awful.

After a while of cleaning, we were finally dismissed. Tom and I walked around the corner of the hallway when I bumped into someone.

"Hey! You– y/n?" I felt a pair of arms  hold my shoulder, keeping me from falling backwards. I looked up and my face was masked with pure recognition.

"Jay? Why are you here?" I hissed at him and slapped his arm.

"Aren't you supposed to be happy to see me? I thought that's how it works." He rubbed his arm before quickly faking a hurt look and held a hand to his chest, above his heart.

"I thought you left with Ethan."

He casually shrugged. "Nah, we were waiting for you. Tried to find the bathroom, got lost, bumped into a blonde dick and asked him where the bathroom was, didn't answer, found it myself, now I'm here. Oh hey, Tom." Tom chuckled and waved back at Jayden.

"You go to this school and you don't know where the bathrooms are?" I asked, dumbfounded, and he just ignored me. Dick.

"How long have you waited here?" Tom asked as the three of us walked towards the main entrance of the school.

"Oh, I don't know. Just a couple of hours. No big deal at all." He said, not bothering to hide his sarcasm, before continuing. "Besides, me and Ethan went to starbucks since you two took ages."

I rolled my eyes as we stepped out to the front yard of the school. The first thing I saw was my brother, leaning against his car impatiently. A grin made it's way to my face as I ran toward Ethan, catching him by surprise when I embraced him in a tight hug. He laughed and wrapped his arms around me as Tom and Jayden made their way towards us.

"Oh so Ethan gets a hug and your twin gets a slap on the arm? Very nice of you." Jayden commented from beside me.

"You don't like hugs. Plus, I've seen your annoying face way too many times." I pointed out and he rolled his eyes, silently agreeing with me.

"Hey! Says the one who keeps stealing my food in the middle of the night."

"As I recall, I was the one who bought the oreos." I sneered and narrowed my eyes, leaning closer to him.

"You stole her oreos?" Ethan curiously asked, pushing us apart.

"You believe her?" Jayden asked back in disbelief, crossing his arms over his chest. I backed away, standing beside Tom as he sighed.

"Why am I even here?"

"I don't know. But from the looks of it, we're not going back home until Jay finally stops turning everything into an argument."

"Huh... I always saw Ethan as the peacemaker type of guy."

"I wish." I snorted before opening the car door and gestured Tom to climb in as we waited for the two to stop arguing.

-

"Come on!"

"No."

"Give. Me. The. Remote!" I jumped at Jay, reaching for the TV remote in his hands. He stretched his arm up into the air, keeping the remote as far away from me as possible.

"Get off me!" He tried to pry me off him while focusing on the TV. He pushed my face away with his feet, which earned a groan from me.

"Ew, get your smelly feet away from me." I pushed his feet away once I normally sat beside him. I huffed in annoyance and went upstairs and I could feel Jay grinning from ear to ear at his victory from a mile away.

I went towards Ethan's old room, that he was currently staying in, to see the door already slightly open. Ethan was staying here over summer break, despite him only having a few weeks left before he had to return back to his campus and university. I have to admit that I miss having Ethan running around the house, chasing Jay away from pranking me, having late night movie marathons together and just teasing and talking with each other.

"What?" Ethan asked once he acknowledged my presence, not taking his eyes off the book he was drawing on. I sighed and went in before closing the door and sitting on the edge of his bed. I liked randomly going into his room while he's there and touch every stationary and decoration when I have nothing to do.

"Jay won't give me the remote. He's been using the TV for four hours." I groaned out in annoyance.

"Yeah I heard your yelling and I'm pretty sure mom and dad did as well." He chuckled, still focusing on the drawing.

When I said nothing he continued, "No doubt that they're already tired from you guys' constant arguing." I didn't respond. I carefully observed his room and let my thoughts wander.

Jay and I weren't like this in the past. I could say that we were unseperable. I was even closer to him back then than I was with Ethan now, but somehow we drifted apart all these years. He'd act like he didn't know me and is ashamed to have me as his sister in public. But it's not like we hated each other. Maybe I'm just being dramatic, but I wished we were still closed. We used to tell each other almost everything, have each other's backs and always be there for each other, and now everything feels different.

"Y/n?" Ethan's voice broke me off my thoughts. I hummed in reply.

"I've been calling you for five times." Ethan said, finally taking his eyes off the sketchbook to look at me.

"Sorry." I smiked sheepishly. From the look on Ethan's face, he knew that something was bothering me, but decided to not push on the subject. I peered over his shoulder to look at the sketch he made of.... well... I don't really know what that is.

"What is that?"

"Dragon." I stated dumbfounded as I stared at the sketch before my eyes and gave him a look. That looked nothing like a dragon.

"I barely even started." He defended. Ethan had always been really good at drawing and art, but he likes to think of it as more of a hobby than something he'd like to do for a living.

"Uh huh..."

I groaned and layed down on his bed, stretching my arms and legs. "Why can't my bed be this comfy? How come you get the good one?"

"Well I mean, it has it's uses. At least we would be comfy while doing–"

"Oh my god! I don't need info on your sex life!" I covered my ears and quickly stormed out of the room, hearing Ethan's faint chuckles as I closed the door.

"Boys." I muttered, heading back towards my room.

Kinda late but...
Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Since most of you wanted the main character to stay as y/n, I'm not going to change it, but I added a last name and introduced her brothers. And there's no Tom and y/n scenes since this chapter is mainly focused on her brothers.
